One group of people believe that technology complicates life, and we should eliminate it to make life simpler. I completely disagree with this idea. Because of IT, humans have free time to become smarter compared with our ancestors who spend almost all the time feeding their hunger.
On the one hand, technology makes our life significantly simpler from different perspectives. Due to progress, people live in their comfortable home, have access to clean water, and don't suffer from hunger. People have a strictly limited time to work, and two days of weekend that can be spent carelessly, for example on entertainment. Technology set free the resources of humanity and allows them to invest it in intelligence, which eventually, will lead to the next stage of simplification where people will be free from any boring routines and physical labour.
On the other hand, all these simplifications are related to the physical side of human beings, but there is another side which requires the complexity of mind. Nowadays, with the rapid advancement of technology, any set of knowledge has a very short lifetime and expires every decade. Therefore, these changes compel humans to periodically upgrade their education and retrain to fit for the current needs of industries. Thus, a group of people that used to live in stable and simple conditions can treat this unstoppable intellectual racing as a quite hard life. In my opinion, this is not the case of human nature, that were created and evolved to satisfy their curiosity, to be researchers, and trailblazers.
To conclude, I believe that technology and innovations make life less complicated and help us to free energy from mundane tasks to more creative and intellectual work. Humanity should willingly embrace modern technological life.
