(RAS)PUTIN . Часть I (на английском языке)

The German philosopher Hegel believed that all great world-historic events and personalities occur twice: the first time as tragedy, the second as farce. It seems Russia is been affiliated with the German over again.

Did anyone paid attention to the fact that the Russian president wears the family name Putin? “And so? What's strange about that? Do you think US President Obama with his name - evoking in susceptible individuals sickly images of huts in which Americans will might be living with such the policy of his presidency - somehow is better?”, an university fellow from the US asked me in turn. “It is probably about the short name, which somehow even resembles the name “Stalin,” he continued, “and maybe Russians prefer leaders only with short names, such as Lenin, Stalin, Yeltsin, or Putin…” I started reflecting over his words and found out the shorter was the name of the leader the more popular he was.

But let’s get back to Putin, yet with avoiding the question of who pointed a finger at him and said in the 90s, “This guy will be the next president of Russia.” Why? Because checking this up is not yet possible in terms of that Putin's chosen by God, by the devil, or by the same guys - and they are not very different from the first two by its power - that chose Obama. The Russian people in the 2000 elections only supported the appointee, because after Yeltsin and the 1999 mysterious apartment bombings in Moscow, Russia was ready to vote perhaps even for the devil.

So, those who chose Putin in the 90s, probably came from the fact that the word “Putin” in Russian is associated with a path*, apparently with a new path, which Russia would go after combiner Gorbachev, who ruined the USSR, and the drunkard Yeltsin who almost drunk away Russia to the delight of the West. I apologize to the relatives of Boris Yeltsin and living Mikhail Gorbachev for the words above, but it's not exactly my opinion. That is the opinion of the Russians – it just is necessary to come to any village or suburbs and ask (if there still are any) people there about these guys.

There is no doubt, the electors of Putin had a good sense of humor then (not sure how is that now). There, of course, may be different options, but the humorists was likely to have chosen two main – “put in” some money (surely only a salary) whether on its own or friends’ account or pocket, and “put in” something somewhere where the alpha-dog comes out as a result. After all, that oil prices should go up after the 2000s these funny men probably knew in advance. So maybe today's collapse in oil prices is only the result of their bad mood caused by the fact that someone is not behaving himself as he would. Amazingly that, the first and the second embodiments are easily got along with Putin.

Today, Russia is once again experiencing a strange feeling because of its leader, who acts toward America like right, but in Russia as a whole life is getting worse and tough. "Of course our troubles were caused by America, damn bureaucrats and gays , and Putin himself is not guilty" – so think the Russians, who love watching TV, and forgive him expensive foreign watches and suits, kissing children in the stomach, and divorce from his wife with rumors of adulterine children. "The suite makes the king", and Putin surely pulled away from the real Russian everyday life, behaving himself like a tsar. Maybe then the Russians, who still keep their belief in thegood tsar” just need to convince the tsar to have an official man of motley, so he could become the real tsar? Do not laugh, because even historically a clown has been an important person, even in public meetings, when many times unmasking demagogues and cooling the heat of tyrants. Jingle bells on its cap, by the way, was a reminder that one live here and now, not in a dream world. When Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold buried Le Glorieux, his jester, he said: "It's over." Indeed, a week later, Karl died.

In Russia and the United States there are not yet official men of motley and clowns. They have been - probably temporarily - replaced by press secretaries and representatives, whose modern role yet has been changed: they, on the contrary, must say that they do not really think. Press-secretary to the tsar is sometimes allowed to express what he thinks though, but he can’t compare to the real man of motley. As far off as for the press-secretary is the role of official representatives to a chewing gum and saluting with the coffee cup guy, who wants to be called “Sting”. It seems that sometimes he himself does well with the role.

After Putin came to power, many people have been thinking,” Why Putin?” But then stopped, mostly not because this issue was not such interesting anymore, but rather because there came more interesting question: “Is Putin for long?” And so did I, especially after his second advent in 2012. And the irony of it is that I have recently got a dream from Thursday to Friday that, due to a Slavonic omen should necessarily happen. And surprisingly, this dream partially replied to the questions above...
