On June 6, 2020, the first container train organized by Guangdong Guangwu Holding Group Co., Ltd departed from Dalang Railway Station, Dongguan, Guangdong Province, in the direction of Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The train consists of 90 TEU (containers in 20-foot equivalent) with a total cargo weight of 288.7 tons. The cargo also includes the expensive telecommunication equipment of the ZTE company.
ZTE is the largest Chinese manufacturer of world-class telecommunications equipment.
The ZTE company entered the market of Uzbekistan in 2004 in the form of a representative office, and in 2008 the company was established - ZTE Investment LLC.
Since 2010, ZTE has been cooperating with Ucell, to which ZTE has been supplying telecommunication equipment 2G / 3G / 4G, and since 2012, it has been cooperating with the joint venture Urumqi-China Pengsheng Company.
The freight train route passes through the Khorgos-Alashankou border crossing. The length of the route is about 7000 km, and the transit time is 15 days.
From January to May 2020, the Dalang Railway Station handled 22 container trains (an increase of 22.22%) and 1974 TEU (containers in a 20-foot equivalent) (an increase of 21.4%). Cost of shipped products amounted to about 800 million yuan. It is reported that in June 16 freight trains will be handled at the railway station, of which China-Russia will have 8 trains to Russia, 5 trains from Russia, 2 trains to Central Asia and 1 train to Europe.
