World War I battery found in France
The search began in the summer of 2019, but only now scientists have published the data of the study. The fortification is in good condition, two trenches and the remains of the line of communication are visible. The battery included an observation post and ammunition depot.
Traces of guns have not been preserved, but carefully equipped firing positions on which they were installed were found, Rossiyskaya Gazeta report
Before the search began, archaeologists examined a map from 1915, a seal of secrecy from the docks.
