"A large-scale and complex event like CitizenCon requires months of planning, and our capabilities are currently limited. In addition, we are not sure that California and Los Angeles will be allowed to hold such large events even in October. We are monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and see that many governments around the world are still resorting to quarantine measures. There is no guarantee that these restrictions will be lifted in the near future. We also felt that it would be unfair to ask you to start preparing for CitizenCon when the event itself is in question due to the current pandemic. To say that we are disappointed would be an understatement, but given the information we have today, we think that canceling CitizenCon was the only correct decision."
Meanwhile, the development of Star Citizen continues in remote mode. The game has already collected over $280.4 million.
