Hi everybody!
My name is Dmitry and I am an electronics production technologist. I want to share with you a little material in which I will explain what temperatures to solder on different tools.
I would like to immediately clarify for those who will later prove something - I am well aware of IPC standards, and the melting temperatures of various solders. Therefore, we will talk exclusively from the position of a production worker.
***
Soldering iron temperature.
Classic - 320°C. For soldering more heat-intensive components - 350°C. Most often, modern stations are used, the power of which is no more than 85W, but the power is secondary, since the speed of temperature compensation on the tip and the heating rate depend on it.
***
Thermal tweezers.
An indispensable tool in production. Almost any component can be installed and dismantled very quickly. It essentially consists of two soldering irons. The temperature of the thermal tweezers is the same - 320°C.
***
Convection reflow oven.
Depending on the type of solder paste, different reflow temperatures are set at the peak of the profile. Lead pastes - 205-210°C. Lead-free - 220-230°C. In furnaces, the heating rate in different zones plays a decisive role.
***
Bottom heating plate.
When soldering on the plate itself, the bottom heating plate is 200°C.
When using the stove as bottom heating, it is the same 200°C. The board is on stands and the board will be at approximately 110°C.
***
Infrared heads.
The height from the board to the emitter is 6-7cm. Temperature - 550°C.
There are many different soldering processes. They can differ greatly from each other, and in order for the soldering quality to remain at a high level, each individual case must be considered separately. Thanks for reading)
