Climate change is one of the defining issues of today’s time. How governments, organizations, and individuals choose to respond to it will have the lasting effects for not only our life, but for the future generations as well. Knowing this, Regent Seven Seas Cruises believes it is its obligation as leaders in the cruise industry to do its part and help mitigate actions that may influence changes to the climate on a large scale. The leadership team member – Tami Louis, is the Director of Sales, and Marketing – Southern & Central California at Regent Seven Seas Cruises. With headquarters in Miami, the company is owned by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. and is committed to environmental conservation. Norwegian’s global environmental program, ‘Sail & Sustain’, reflects the Company’s mission of providing truly exceptional cruise vacation experiences, while minimizing its impact on the environment.
Opportunity to move into the Travel Industry
Tami Louis has always wanted to explore the world and has felt drawn to the sea. After graduating from University, she joined the startup team at a new Hilton property, providing her first opportunity to work in the travel industry over 25 years ago. She has enjoyed working in the industry ever since. During that time, Tami was invited to sail on a 40 foot sailboat from Central America to French Polynesia with friends, and the spirit of that trip peaked her interest in working in the cruise industry. After she returned from that experience, a friend told her about a job opening at a cruise line. Tami sent in her resume, and her adventurous nature caught the attention of a cruise line. He appreciated the risks and perseverance of sailing across the equator 23 days without a landfall and the company hired her on the spot. Her experience at that cruise line propelled her to spend nearly a decade as District Sales Manager for Holland America Line, where she honed her skills in the cruise industry. In 2003, Tami was hired as a Director of Sales & Marketing for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. She now counsels luxury travel advisors on how to grow their businesses. She inspires and trains others to create innovative new paths to reach luxury clients using traditional and digital marketing channels. At Regent, she dedicates most of her time working with travel agency partners leading training sessions and interfacing with valued guests at designated events that showcase Regent Seven Seas Cruises, unrivaled experience.
