Let's talk today about how work together Python and IEC 61850
Possibilities is different between different makers of relay protection.
One relay protection devices support only shortage version MMS 61850 like REF542plus.
Another ones support wide range possibilities like REF620 or REF615.

Let's review such unusual task like simultaneous starts all disturbance recorders in border one substation, or several substations.
It could be useful when we can not found any rational explanation some of the trips, when we have to see whole picture what happening in electrical systems, and when for us not enough data records from one or two cubicles. Then we link together two events - unexpected thing and simultaneous start all disturbance recorders. Therefore we get possibilities to see what was happened on multiply devices - feeders, incomers, buscouplers.
As well as it could be useful during the commissioning works ESCADA, when we have to get test records from multiply relay protection devices. To do this manually, do you agree, it is tiresome. Especially if it is needs to do many times.
In my future publications I have planed about real case when that method came is useful that simultanious starts disturbance recorders, during the analyze at the first sight unexplained trips on substations. However in that case is were devices Sepam 80, but I used there combination from Python + Modbus + Raspberry Pi.
