Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream - Review

Hello, beauties! Nice to see you here again :) Smash that like for more epic content ♥

This product was featured in my February skincare empties post, make sure to check that out! ~

Laneige is a mid-range Korean skincare brand. It is so hyped up, I could not resist trying some of their epic products. Since the full sizes are so damn expensive, I have bought a lot of samples from this brand - more reviews coming soon!

The sample size comes in a simple blue plastic tube. The volume of 10 ml is enough to try it to see if it really fits you. The texture is light, creamy and opaque. It needed some time to absorb on the back of my hand.

A few notes about the ingredients here. The water in this product is actually “hydro ionized mineral water” that contains six minerals that are supposed to help moisturize your skin: zinc, manganese, magnesium, sodium, calcium, and potassium. I like that it also contains squalane, niacinamide, urea, acetyl glucosamine, tocopherol (vitamin E), and copper tripeptide-1, which are all supposed to be hydrating, soothing, beneficial ingredients for skin. It also contains two ingredients that are normally found in CeraVe products: ceramide-3 and phytosphingosine. A nice bonus is the ascorbyl glucoside and the hyaluronic acid; too bad they are in such quantities, to be placed at the end of the list.

My point of view - This is a very nicely formulated moisturizer. The ingredient list is long, packed up with effective components, almost no extracts - it is a good sign for people with sensitive skin. I see that this formula is for dry to normal skin, and it should be avoided by acne-prone guys. However, I decided to try it out in the wintertime.

My verdict - I can’t begin to tell you how disappointed I am with this cream. I’m very disappointed with it and the effects it had on my skin. The main thing I don’t like is how sticky the cream is. It never absorbed into my skin, and my skin always felt tacky when I wore this. You definitely can’t wear it under makeup, and it’s even uncomfortable to wear at night. It also gave me acne all over my face, which looked so bad and was painful. It has some ingredients in it that sound good, but they didn’t work out for me. Not to mention, this cream has a powerful smell.
