The Smolny decided to allocate another historic district in St. Petersburg — Tuchkov Buyan. It will be located between Dobrolyubova Avenue, Academician Likhachev Square, Malaya Neva, and Zhdanovka River.
Previously, this territory was part of the Petrograd side, but officials decided to allocate it in a separate district. The decision was made taking into account the opinion of the Toponymic Commission.
In the future, there will be a similarly-named park in this place. The city has already announced a contest of concepts for the future green zone, organizers have received 229 applications submitted by architects from 50 countries. In early February, the jury will select the eight best works, and the winner's name will be announced by June.
