How To quickly and profitably sell a car - 4 stages

Every carlover even once in his or her life had to sell a car. So did I. Today I decided to collect all my experience in selling cars and share it with public!

So, here we go.

1. Pre-sale preparation;

2. Promotion;

3. Shows and demonstration of the car to potential buyers;

4. Registration of sale (Hurray! Buy!).

Pre-sale preparation.

If you think presale preparation is all nonsense, then this is a deeply erroneous opinion. Based on my personal experience (several years of work at a car dealership, as well as personal sales), I can say that for all the same problems, the age of the make and model, the prepared car will go faster and even more expensive.

Where should you start?

Firstly, we will determine all visible and invisible faults and defects of your car that may prevent you from getting the maximum price. It is better to make a list on paper.

Now, from these problems we will distinguish visible and invisible defects.

Visible defects: this, you guessed it, is what can be seen with the naked eye.

Invisible defects: this is something that can be seen with the naked eye (for example, when inspecting a car at a service station), and you can guess or hear about it.

When the list of problems is compiled, you should decide on a budget and select from the list the priorities that should be repaired first.

To begin, naturally follows with the visible.

Remark: We are taking all these actions in order to get the maximum value for the car. If such a task is not worth it, then we sell as is, and the head does not hurt.

Visible defects are primarily body problems and paintwork problems. Next is the salon and what's under the hood.

Invisible, but sometimes well audible - these are problems with the suspension and engine.

So, we have decided on visible defects, now let's calculate the cost of solving these problems (is it worth contacting?).

On average, to make and paint one small element will cost you 4-7 thousand rubles (the price at the time of this writing). Elements such as the hood or roof are respectively more expensive. We write down in the same list an estimated expense.

Also, you should consider the cost of polishing the body, if you do not do it yourself, and this is an important part of preparing the car for sale.

Now the interior and engine compartment.

Be sure to use a vacuum cleaner, but you may have to resort to serious dry cleaning, and this is 2-3 thousand rubles. But the action is absolutely necessary if you want to squeeze out a maximum of banknotes from your car. In addition to cleaning the cabin, do not forget about the luggage compartment.

By the way, in detail about the preparation of the cabin, you can read in the article "Smell in the cabin - we optimize!", Where everything is described in sufficient detail and will not be repeated.

It was the turn to see what was under the hood.

And it can be drips of oil, antifreeze, rust and other ugliness. It is necessary to establish the exact reasons for the run-off of auto-liquids and, accordingly, the cost of eliminating them, this can be either gaskets or oil seals.

Next, smoothly go to the invisible defects.

If you have been using this car for a long time, then you already know everything. Where it knocks, sausage, how it slows down, where it leads when you release the steering wheel, how much oil it eats and other troubles. About which, especially, do not want to talk with the buyer.

Now, it remains to calculate the estimated costs of eliminating all defects. Calculated? Just do not faint :), we will learn to get out of this with the least loss to the wallet.

I described in brief.

Of all the visible defects, choose the most visible, (mostly body) they should be eliminated first. The rest, leave as is.

Here are the ones on! - you say. Just told what needs to be eliminated, and now, leave as is?

Everything is correct and I will explain why.

The psychology of the buyer is quite simple (you can check for yourself :)), looking at the car, it is determined in the first few seconds. Like it or not. If you like it, it will continue the inspection and maybe a small discount on your part will decide the purchase issue, if you don’t like it right away, it will leave under any pretext.

Therefore, your task is to present a worthy masterpiece. To all the gaps were within acceptable limits, there were no dents and scratches, and there was no rust and corrosion, which looks particularly ugly. In more detail, about the elimination of defects in paint coating, discussed in other articles.

So, the car is ready to appear the buyers in all its glory and proceed to the beginning of the advertising campaign.

Advertising company.

Immediately advice, be sure to take a photo of your car in different angles, so that there is something to choose from, from a pair of photos in the front and profile you will not choose. Do not forget to take a photo of the cabin, trunk and engine compartment. If the outer shoals are eliminated, then additional photos will only benefit. And this is at least on four sides, plus the trunk, under the hood and a couple in the cabin.

Choosing the best (8-12 pcs.), Reduce them in any graphic editor, to the size of no more than 200-300 kb, if the ad site has such a requirement. Go to these resources (3-5 popular sites), and methodically drive ads with photos and detailed descriptions.

And do not even think about writing any negative about your car, it’s the best for you, and if you don’t believe, let it come and see :)!

Try to paint your ad as detailed as possible. All the advantages of your car, how many airbags you have, and how often you use them :). What are your cool wheels, music, etc. etc. Believe my experience, the buyer is interested in all the details, and the dry ads, indicating only the year of release and the check marks in front of the options, are simply ignored and calls to them are the last.

If space permits (restrictions on the text) - be sure to write how many thousands of kilometers ago the oil changed, the timing belt, something on the suspension, which gasoline you refueled, where you do service.

If you go to the country, write that the main run on the highway, and not in traffic jams. This will create the impression of a zealous owner, and accordingly a well-kept car.

Harmful tips: Do not be tormented by the agony of doubt, and do not let your conscience gnaw if you did not write in the announcement that the rear oil seal is leaking and the CV joint is crunching. Believe me, it leaks and crunches almost all your competitors, but they do not write about it. And if you write this, then rest assured, they will call you and come to watch last.
