Grandfather told this story to granddaughter. As a child, he ended up with brothers and sisters in a village to which the Germans approached. Adults decided to hide the children in the forest, in the forester's house. We agreed that Baba Martha would wear food for them. But returning to the village was strictly prohibited. So the children lived in May and June. Every morning, Martha left food in the barn. Parents ran in at first, but then stopped. The children looked at Martha through the window, she turned and silently, sadly looked at them and baptized the house. Once, two peasants came to the house and called the children with them. These were the partisans. The children learned from them that their village was burned a month ago. Baba Marfa was also killed.
