"The results of our study are extremely alarming and call for urgent regulatory measures for the cultivation and sale of medical cannabis, including strict controls on product quality and labeling, which should include detailed information on the potential health effects of marijuana," said Dr. Igor Grant, Director of the Centre for the Study of Cannabis in Society at the University of Alberta, who led the research along with Dr. Ian Scott, professor and chair in the Department of Psychiatry.
"As a result of our findings, we are calling for increased efforts by the federal government to regulate medical cannabis."
