Why do I write in English?

Have you, guys, ever thought what makes you use different languages in different situations, if saying nothing of opponent’s language and business? I have an idea! Let me explain. First of all, I'd love to mention that my mother language is Russian and I love it with all my heart. Russian has so much different words suitable for one or another situation.

You can describe anything, using only one word or vise a versa you can keep on writing 30 pages about one particular thing.

But one topic I can hardly ever speak out on Russian is about feelings. Maybe it's only about me, but every time I should say something about how I feel, there is always some awkwardness turning on immediately. Like if the idea of talking about fillings is prohibited. That is when English kind of saves the situation.

I was very reserved person before I started to watch English-speaking YouTube bloggers. You know what the main topics were that time? Relationships! The exact thing I was (and still am sometimes) afraid to talk with anybody.

Why? Because people around was either to adult to understand me right or too young (my age) to not making jokes out of it and just support. Soon after that I started to think everything in English if the ideas were creative or emotional, so that way I could keep them out of anybody's sharp remarks. And now every time I writhe anything in Russian it seems too boring that somebody would be interested to read it.

With all that being said, I think sometimes we might have our own reasons use or not to use one language. For me it’s certainly particular topics which are chosen not by me, but by the society in my early teenage. One way or another, there is only you to decide how to express yourself through language.

Have you ever struggled trying to express yourself through your mother language? If so, feel free to write it down in the comment box bellow :)
