The story of the tennis coach

In November 2014, I lost to a boy who is 11 years old with a score of 0:6! It was a big blow for me. I immediately decided to change my tennis coach. And while walking from the courts to the locker room to meet me was my current coach. I saw him working with other guys, including the best player in town. I was afraid of this coach. He was a very angry guy. But I dared and went up to him, talked and asked him if he was allowed to practice.
So I started practicing with him!
But I didn't realize that my coach was having a big crisis in his life and business, too! He left his best student, who he coached for a couple of years.
My coach had a dream of making his student the best tennis player in town. He was already the third in the ranking, and then very suddenly he declares that he is throwing tennis and will go hiking in the mountains.

I started tennis in April 2013.

Coach's dream of the best student has collapsed! He put so much energy, time and effort into it! And that student did not leave very nicely. He said that the training was expensive, that he had not achieved the result.
Do you have any idea what a blow to the coach's self-esteem it is? And the coach, who was an athlete and did not reach the heights and is not very high.
It's a shame that people are so ungrateful. The resentment for life that he did not achieve his goal here as well. The feeling of injustice is that he put so much effort into it, and this is nobody appreciated and the goal was not achieved.

In general, he found himself in a "broken trough". Against the background of this big negative, 7 more students left him in the next 3 months. The income fell very sharply. And it was his wife who gave birth to the coach and had to spend a lot of money. If before he lived quietly, because he earned well, now he barely had enough money.
In business, stress, disappointment, pain, negative.
Money is not enough. There is a newborn child in the family.
In general, the coach was in a pit. Emotional, psychological and monetary.

Later he told me that he was so disappointed in tennis that he even wrote a business plan for the coffee shop. He wanted to give up tennis and leave to do something else. He didn't see any prospects, was disappointed he hadn't achieved his goal. And did not see how and where he could attract new customers.
You too are upset and disappointed and do not know where to go next?

After training, when we just talked, he often talked about passive income, about renting out real estate. He was reading a lot of books about different ways of earning money at that time.
He continued to train because tennis fed him. But he wasn't sure. The income from tennis just covered his family's expenses.
My coach and I started to talk more about business and income during training sessions and afterwards. I noticed that he didn't have much of a relationship with his clients. I asked questions and asked.

Then one day I accidentally told him how to get a new client! I said,
"Look, call this guy! He lost the tournament, he's as disappointed as I once was. He's ready to change coaches." The coach did it with great fear and a new student came to him for $600 a month! And that was a lot of money for him.
Then I told him how to convince another one to study with him. Another +$300 per month.
The coach saw that I knew about sales and money. And I can help him. At the end of 2015, we agreed to work on barter.

The first thing we did was to figure out if he was going his own way. Whether it's tennis or building something else in parallel. Of course, I felt like tennis was His!

The second thing we were working on was getting rid of the resentment and all the negativity associated with the student's departure, which was followed by a crisis.
He felt better! Joy came, and the cash flow opened.
I told the coach that the books he was reading were leading him astray. This is not his way. (Later on, he bought two apartments for rent, but then successfully sold them, earned money, but realized that the money was not worth it. He lost the same amount of tennis as he did with the apartments. He saw from his own experience that this is not his way).

Then we figured out what to focus on, so he could get more money from training. At the beginning of 2016, I taught the coach how to sell. Thanks to this, he had a lot of clients and was able to earn $3500 a month.
In 2017, he continued to grow and made $5000 a month. And in 2018, he went out at $6200 a month.
That's how my coach stayed in tennis and was very happy about it! And soon I will be the first tennis player in the city.

The paradox of life is that one of them left, who was supposed to be the first, and the other one (Me) came very green, young, not experienced, who in 5 years will be the first. At that moment, no one would have thought that he would be the first.
