A careful inspection shows that the machine is rotten. We paid the whole bottom, changed the TV set, jacks, wheel arches, stands and other small things, I do not remember exactly. Work together with spare parts, anticorrosive coating and installation of wings cost about 450 dollars. It was the first blow below the belt.
The next three months of operation were accompanied by almost continuous minor repairs. Brake drums, all brake pads, candles, vacuum, high-voltage wires, gasoline pump, intake pipe bracket, exhaust pipe and many other things that I can't remember anymore were replaced. It's a pity I didn't write everything down. I remember the costs. It is still about 300 dollars.
Next - painting. Complete painting with disassembly I was offered for 600 dollars (my car is ordinary acrylic paint, not metallic). It is better to shoot myself. After the welder must be painted. Found an economical option. In the garage. Surface painting without disassembly cost me 250 dollars. It seemed to me - painted well. Only all my buddies asked me for some reason - did they paint you with a brush?
Six months after the purchase, the car was transformed. I was optimistic about the future. Repairing the starter, carburetor and other small things I no longer perceived as a problem. With the advent of the cold, however, there were new difficulties. The machine began to start badly, with the electrical equipment is constantly some trouble. I bought a new battery, a new starter, a new radiator, repaired the wiring and contacts. It took about 250 dollars more.
Now the beauty - we start halfway around. The joy was not long. Traffic jams flowed in the engine cooling system. To replace them, you need to remove some parts. It was necessary to change the saxophone - the pipe of the original form together with the plugs.
A year later, the list was added to the engine overhaul (it's just time). It was necessary to have a complete overhaul with a guilloche. Has laid out 500 dollars more.
After 2 years after purchase, having spent for all repairs approximately 1800 dollars, I have received the good car. Only the salon remained intact. Although I really want to change seats. And the fabric has been wiped clean, and the frame of the front seats is broken. It is necessary to cook 100 dollars more. It is pleasant to realize that these expenses, unlike the previous ones, will be used to increase comfort.
I spent a lot of money and time on this car in order to bring it to a condition. It is quite possible that I created a problem for myself, which I then solved. But now I can say that it's not just a means of transportation, it's a friend.
