The rest of the day flew by very quickly. River tried to stop as little as possible, but Erin wasn't accustomed to going all day. She finally sat down on the ground and said she wouldn't move until she woke up. River didn't argue with her. Besides, the night was about to come to terms with her rights. And they got to the forest.
Erin sank to the ground, leaned her back against the tree and stretched her legs out.
- I want to eat.
- So prepare," said the mercenary. The girl wriggled.
- Make a fire, and I will try.
River moved her eyebrows.
- If I had something to do with it, I would have done so, no doubt about it. And you? You're a witch.
- The future," her girlfriend corrected, closing her eyes. - I can't make fires out of nothing.
- What can you do?
- Well," Erin thought for a second. - I can spoil the potion.
The mercenary sniffed, looking around.
- If I want to commit suicide, I'll remember you," she promised.
- Hey, where are you going? - Erin met, seeing the tall River figure disappearing among the trees.
- Sit tight, I'll get something we could sleep on tonight," the woman said. Erin sighed and closed her eyes again.
When River returned half an hour later with a bunch of deadwood, she saw that the girl sitting in her seat was chewing something in concentration.
- Share," River took the burden off her. Erin gave the hired woman some kind of weed.
- And what am I supposed to do with it? - River squeamishly wriggled, sniffing carefully. Erin smiled contentedly.
- Eat, don't worry, I know a lot about herbs.
River shook her shoulders and bit off a little bit. The greens tasted good, sour, and very refreshing. River didn't even notice how she ate it all. Of course, it wasn't enough for her, but for lack of the best, she had to enjoy the grass.
Having finished with a meager dinner, River began to cook the bed. Erin didn't even think to help, just sat there and looked with sleepy eyes. Finally, River told her that it would have been much faster if she had also taken part in it, and the girl cheekily claimed that River was doing a great job herself. Not finding a decent answer, the mercenary lay down silently on the branches. She wanted to sleep, and she wasn't going to watch over Erin. If she wanted to escape, let her. However, it is unlikely that she is so stupid that she will run through an unfamiliar forest in total darkness. Although, who knows her.
- River...
The hired woman looked dissatisfied at the barely visible in the dim light of the stars girl.
- What? What?
- Will Freddy and Sylvia find us?
River was silent, not knowing what to say. Of course, she didn't doubt Sylvia's abilities, having studied them well in the time they had spent together, but she had been worried about her absence for too long. "She couldn't have forgotten her responsibilities. River was hoping that he and Freddy just got somewhere else, far away from here, and soon will show up. Anyway, she would have liked it very much.
- So they will come back? - Erin whispered again. River decided that in this case, you can make the situation a little bit better. After all, the girl must have been worried about her boyfriend.
- Of course, where they will go.
River didn't know if Erin believed her or not, but no more questions followed. Erin curled up on the other side of the improvised bed, with her back to the mercenary. River looked at her for a while, then sighed heavily and hugged her as she moved in.
- Quiet, it's me," she gurgled as Erin twitched. - It'll be warmer.
Erin wasn't relaxed, however, letting River's hands close on her stomach. It was really much warmer. "To think I was lying in a hug with my alleged killer," Erin shuddered, feeling River's breath running down her neck. She was a little uncomfortable, though River wasn't going to take up her duties right now. Somewhere in the distance, an owl shouted, and Erin let herself be closed. She wanted to sleep.

Despite the fact that Erin was always turning from side to side, River still managed to sleep but woke up from the fact that someone insisted on shaking her shoulder. Her first thought was that Sylvia, who had returned, was in a hurry to hug her old partner, but River didn't hear a familiar voice. She was bewildered, accustomed to the darkness that surrounded her. "Another night. What happened? At that moment, Erin's hot lips pressed against the mercenary's ear, and the girl whispered quietly:
- There was someone in those thickets.
- Don't be shallow," River said quietly, though, looking in that direction. There was something shining, and she squabbled, trying to get a better look at the cause of her companion's fear. River was sure there was no danger, but the old fairy tales of the darkness waiting for the helpless wanderers at night came to mind. Suddenly a branch cracked in the bushes, and the frightened witch pressed so hard against the mercenary that River could feel her heart beats fiercely.
