Dry skin or dehydrated: what's the difference and what to do

Оглавление

Ladies' faces are often associated with apples. It is good when there are epithets "liquid", "fresh", "brown" in this comparison. But what if the word "baked" is more appropriate in the description of your skin? We will tell you how to help a sluggish and flabby skin with wrinkles like "baked apple", learn to distinguish between dry and dehydrated skin and tell you when it is really time to see a qualified dermatologist.

If your skin has become thin and dry as parchment or covered with a net of small wrinkles, you will probably go to a cosmetologist. He will condemn the "dry skin", recommend a miraculous moisturizer and send you home to expect a magic transformation.

But will there be a result? Yes, someone will - women whose skin is really dry. And to someone, these tools are not suitable at all. Why? Yes, because the skin can be dry, and maybe - dehydrated. And probably 2 different from the physiological point of view of the condition.

Dry skin

Skin as thin as paper, dull and rough as paper, often peels off. It seems to be tightened, it has a lot of superficial wrinkles, including if its owner is still young.

The good news is that a competent dermatologist or beautician will undoubtedly help in this case. Only a really knowledgeable person who has not used the outdated classification of skin on the oily, dry, normal and combined. He uses innovative diagnostic techniques - corneometry, thevometry, sebometry - and can find 2 important parameters: how much moisture is contained in the stratum corneum and how much sebum it contains. The latter prevents the evaporation of moisture, "smoothes" the scales, performs a water-repellent function. And if the production of this natural grease is not observed, the skin soon becomes dry.

Dry skin: intense peeling, roughness, a sense of tightness, surface wrinkles, increased irritability.

What is the dry skin?

Modern classifications distinguish the following types of skin:

  • Dry sebodeficient (with impaired production of sebum, lack of sebum);
  • Dry (in this case, the amount of sebum is fine);
  • Dry with hypersecretion of sebum.

Taking into account the peculiarities of your skin, a specialist is obliged to create a method of action, including the correction of nutrition, increasing the level of air humidity and, of course, special cosmetics.

Dehydrated skin

This skin is all deep wrinkled and creased, and its turgor - the ability to be tight, supple and quickly return to its original position - is reduced. The skin has a yellow tint, it is sluggish and flabby. It is in no way affected by almost no praise for expensive creams and serums. This is because the problem is not on the surface, but in the deepest layer under the epidermis - the dermal matrix.

Dehydrated skin: reduced turgor, flabbiness, lethargy, deep wrinkles, and creases.

In this case, a good specialist is also needed: he or she will prescribe a capillaroscopy and an ultrasound scan to find out what prevents the capillaries from working, and also assess the viscoelastic properties of the skin with ballastometry. But the methods of solving the problem will be somewhat different, because, as we have already figured out, cosmetics in the case of dehydrated skin do not work.

Our face and body are densely penetrated by blood vessels. Big branches - arteries and arterioles, small branches - capillaries. They are the ones who bring life-giving moisture and nutrients to the skin.

Why do dry and dehydrated skin appear?

Dry and dehydrated skin have in common a lack of moisture. Only in the case of dryness epidermis poorly retains water, and with dehydration, in the dermis, there is no movement of blood, and, therefore, - no water.

The quality of blood movement depends on the condition of capillaries and larger vessels. If a person has a weak capillary tone and the arteries are pinched by tense muscles, the blood flow is very, very weak. Because of this, the skin "sits on a hard diet" and constantly gets less moisture and nutrients. It seems as if it shrinks from the inside and dries out.

Add to this constant stress, hormonal disorders, inflammation, lack of sleep, medication and dozens of other damaging factors. Just a thriller scenario with the skin in the lead role!

How to fix everything?

No matter how much we try, in two cases - when it is dry and dehydrated - it is unrealistic to defeat the witch without resuming microcirculation. Neither superficial massage, nor bio revitalization, nor mesotherapy or other procedures, which in such a large amount gives you the beauty industry, will not deliver moisture and other necessary substances into the dermal layer artificially.

The work of replenishing moisture in the skin should begin with relaxation of the cervical and thoracic parts of the spine. Tense muscles block the blood flow: until they relax, until the way for this life-giving stream, carrying our skin water and nutrients, it will be very difficult to cope with "drought". It is simply impossible.

At the next stage, it is necessary to start with the deepest myofascial facial massage. With its help you will gently soften the fibrous formations, will undoubtedly help the stagnant lymph to leave the face and body, create a "pump" to push water from the capillaries to the intercellular place of the dermis.

Plus, you need to exercise as much as possible to normalize blood flow, maintain muscle mass and hormonal background, correct nutrition and daily routine.

And now the skin is not dehydrated, but saturated with moisture, smoothed and pleases with a pinkish tint and gentle blush. Just a pouring apple!
