At the beginning of the month, so it's time to give me a list of the books I've read in the past, giving them some small marks.
Once again, the purpose of this action is simple - to help you with the choice of possibly interesting for you folios and save you from wasting time on those works that are not worth your attention. I ask you not to judge strictly, because everything is, of course, only my point of view :-)
So...
1. Lee Child "Jack Richer or Past tense".
Evaluation: 5 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective.
The long-awaited new detective about Richer did not fail. Quite interesting (however, as always). As always, Jack decided to visit his father's homeland and reveal one family secret. At the same time, there is another story that intersects with the main one. And yes, it seems to have found a lady who suits Richer in logic and layout. But they won't be there. And yes, Jack did it without a girlfriend for some eyelids.
Conclusion: a good gift for lovers of the series.
2. S. Beckett "The Restless Dead".
Evaluation: 5 Limitations: up to 16 years. Genre: Detective.
The next one and the book about Dr. Hunter I even liked very much. Even more than the previous one. Although, the plot is not so twisted. Well, the main guesses can be read quite easily. But I read with pleasure, despite the peculiarities of the author (he savor fully disassembles anatomical features of corpses).
Conclusion: The author is a great author, but not for everyone.
3. Anton Chizh - "Butterfly Boy"
Evaluation: 4 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective
4. Anton Chizh - The Queen of Diamonds
Evaluation: 5 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective
5. Anton Chizh - "Dead only twice"
Evaluation: 4 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective
I think I'm done with Anton Chizh's works. Well, at least until the new ones are released. The first book is the last one available about Vanzarov. Despite the interesting immersion in the world of the theater and ideas for at least 1 additional post, I will not say that it was to my liking. Something he overcame. Although, in principle, a very normal book, as well as the whole series.
The second book - from the Universe of Vanzarov (he is also a little present there), but in the center of another character - a Moscow detective named Pushkin. Fresh, interesting, funny. I liked it. I hope, the author will still publish books in this direction.
The third book is quite different. This is a modern spy novel from the life of illegals. Intrigue, intelligence and all that. Interesting, and even sometimes exciting. But that's why I can not put a high mark. Something confused me in this book
Conclusion: An excellent way to read and evaluate the different directions of one author. And it is very good even.
6. A. Koshko "Among murderers and robbers".
Evaluation: 5 Limitations: No. Genre: history, biography, memoirs
Reading retro detectives, I could not deny myself the pleasure of finally re-reading a book that has long been out of reach. Arkady Frantsevich Koshko is one of the most famous detectives and criminalists of Tsarist Russia, and of course, it was curious to know how it really was. Of course, it is not as twisted and powerful as in fiction, but it is also quite interesting. So I recommend it.
Conclusions: quite qualitative memoirs.
7. L. Latytnina "The Hunting of Manchurians".
Evaluation: 5 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective
One of the rare series of domestic, which I looked through to the end and highly appreciated was written in this novel. And I know how Mrs. Latynina (S.O.) is treated online, but I can confidently say that the work is good and of high quality. I haven't read it so much, but what I have read - I can say for sure - "Izubrya Hunting" is the best. And even more - I even had to taste it. So...
Conclusion: I personally liked it.
8. N. Svechin "Testament of Avaacuum".
Evaluation: 3 Limitations: No. Genre: Detective
Well, I didn't like it. And at all. It seems also retro, and the author tried, but somehow everything is weak. Unnaturally at all - there is no faith. And here even I do not know, whether it is necessary to try something at the author to read or not. I did not decide.
Conclusion: I was not hooked at all.
9. S. Anisimov "The Day Before the Day After Tomorrow.
Evaluation: 4 Limitations: No. Genre: alternative history, war.
Once upon a time, I read the author's book "Beads", which I still consider better in the genre of alternative history. It's just great, everything is written and done. I was very impressed. "The "Bis-2" version of the Korean War was not bad either, although it was not so impressive.
Decided to eat another book, which I recently stumbled upon. It is somewhat different - about the attack on Russia by NATO. And it should be said a little bit scary... But it is interesting. Therefore, I will read the sequel as well. Although, I would refer too big an introduction to the disadvantages. Although not so - the introduction is dynamic, but the middle of the book is a little bit smeared ... too much.
But in general - he writes very well. You believe him....
Conclusion: for fans of a theme.
