5 excellent little-known authors of detectives

Hello, folks. If you're looking at this resource carefully, you're probably aware that I like reading very much. And absolutely different books. Reading for me is not only a way to get knowledge and information, but also just one of the main pleasures in life. Therefore it is not surprising that I read a lot of detectives and very much appreciate this genre. And I am glad that many of the masters of detective work, who were not well known in our country before, are now gaining a worthy popularity. I would like to hope that there is a bit of my work on it. There is no need to introduce such cool modern authors as Yu Nesboe, Dennis Lehein, Jeffrey Deaver, Lee Child, Michael Connally, John Connolly, Jean-Louis Granger. Pulyarns and authors who have written before or for a long time, such as Stark (Westerlake), Grisham, James Ellroy or Japrazo But there are still plenty of cool writers of detective genre, whose fame is much less than it could be.

Pulyarns and authors who have written before or for a long time, such as Stark (Westerlake), Grisham, James Ellroy or Japrazo

But there are still plenty of cool writers of detective genre, whose fame is much less than it could be. Today, 5 of them I will introduce you a little, in the flash mob #5 books.

So...

1. Harlan Koben.

One of the coolest and most interesting authors of the detective genre. He simply does not have bad or weak books. All interesting, memorable, exciting. And I am surprised that only one of his books is put in the movies, and that the French. But Harlan Cobain is the winner of the Edgar, Shamus and Anthony Awards and is the first writer to receive all three. He is also the first in the list of 10 best detective writers in America according to the New York Times. And this is no exaggeration.

In Russian, Cobain has a series about sports agent Myron Bolitar and his friend the most powerful Win Lockwood. Very bright characters.

And there are about 12 unrelated novels. Again, any book by this author is cool.

2. Simon Beckett

He's a British writer and journalist, as well as a musician. Since 1992, as an independent journalist, he has worked with prominent British newspapers and magazines (including The Times, The Independent on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, The Observer), publishing mainly criminal material. He decided to try his hand at writing and was very successful. Winner of the European Prize for Detective Literature (Best Work of Detective Genre). Very specific, but not to lose. 6 of his 7 novels about Dr. David Hunter and one novel outside the series are translated into Russian.

Hunter is a forensic anthropologist, so the book is full of anatomical features. Therefore, not everybody will do - everyone has different impressions. But those who are interested will definitely pay tribute to this outstanding master. Start with the first book - "Chemistry of death". And I hope, get involved.

3. Lars Kepler

Under this pseudonym writes a Swedish couple Alexander Andoril and Alexandra Coelho Andoril. I can't say that it's perfect, but it's quite an interesting series of books about inspector Jonah Lynn. A kind of classic detective with elements of Scandinavian noir. The main character is quite interesting. And the books as a whole are quite interesting. There are reservations, of course, and the roughness, but in general, I repeat, it is worthily written.

At the moment 6 books are translated into Russian and it is probably necessary to start with "Hypnothesizer". Magazine "Time" named "Hypnotist" one of the ten most important books in 2010 in the world If you like the main character, read the rest. I think you'll like it.

4. Pierre Lemetre.

In fact, for the sake of fairness, Lemetr is a very famous man in his homeland. Writer and writer, winner of the Goncourt Prize - and this is not a pound of raisins. Since 2011, he has also been the head of the Writers' Society. But there are two buts. Firstly, he is popular in France, and secondly, he is not detective work. He received the same Goncourt prize for his novel about the fate of veterans of World War I "Goodbye up there".

But his detectives are very, very interesting. Especially the series about investigator Kamil Verkhoven: "Careful work", "Alex" and "Victims". Try to read "Alex" - you will like it - read everything. And not only his detectives - the author is very worthy.

5. Donato Currizi.

Currizi is an Italian writer, screenwriter, playwright, journalist, and director. Former lawyer. Not so long ago, I met him myself, watching a film that he staged as a director on his own book, which you will agree, rarely happens. The film and the book were very much liked. They were called "Girl in the Mist". Very cool.

The rest is a little worse yet, but personally I think Donato is not only interesting but also extremely promising author.

There are 7 books translated into Russian - 2 series (one about Mila Vasquez, the other about Sandra and Marcus Avenue) and 2 extra-serial. If you have not watched the film, I advise you to start with "Girls in the fog".

Have a nice time of day.
