Replacement of medical astringents with home remedies
1 Use an astringent that you can eat, such as tomatoes or bananas. Acids in tomatoes can reduce acne, close pores and fight bacteria. Cut the cooked tomato in half, and gently rub the acne on the side of the face for about 1 minute with the cut surface of half a tomato. Then use the remaining half of the cut surface to rub the acne on the other side of the face.
Some people use banana peels to relieve the itching caused by mosquito bites, and it may also reduce acne. Gently rub the affected area with banana peel.
