The time to grow up. Part 7

<< Come on Tony, at least today passes! >> mumbled Bruce, accompanied by Steve's confirmation puff. Thor remained silent, looking away.

He ignored them beautifully and turned to Loki, who had remained silent not considering him at all << Hey loser, did you hear me? Get away from me! >>

Helena replied ahead of Loki and pointing her icy eyes at Tony.

He turned around raising an eyebrow << Do we know each other by chance? >>

The girl's unexpected lips curved into a seductive smile, while her long, tapered fingers caressed the edge of the coffee cup almost distractedly. << Who doesn't know the famous Tony Stark?! >> He asked in a low and persuasive voice, under the stunned gaze of Loki.

Tony Stark passed a hand in his hair, messing them up in a gesture that might have seemed random, but was not at all, and showed off one of his best charming smiles, forgetting the words that the girl had spoken to him just before. << If so, with whom do I have the pleasure of speaking? >>

Hel stood up and approached the other with a studied attitude until their bodies arrived almost to touch each other. He grabbed the thin red tie the boy had worn over a blue shirt and distractedly smoothed it while pointing his emerald irises at the brown ones of the other, with the air of someone who doesn't care about the world around him. << I am Helena Frost. >> She said in a soft voice, and then changed her attitude completely. He tied his tie around Tony's neck in a vice that cut off his breath and his gaze became the very representation of hell; he approached his lips to his ear. << Remember me well Stark, because if you only dare to bother me or Loki again I assure you that I will find a way to make you repent! >> Having said that, he let him go and returned to sit down as if nothing had happened.

Loki looked at her even more stunned than when he thought she was trying to do it with Stark, and perhaps he would have preferred it to be so because to challenge him as she had done, so shamelessly it meant getting into serious trouble, especially for someone like her. She looked around and noticed a couple of guys not far away who looked in their direction and spoke softly, probably commenting on what had just happened. Hel was definitely in trouble.

In the meantime Tony had tried to resume breathing regularly, still shaken by what had happened; that girl was terrifying, he didn't want to think about it and for her pride he would never admit it, but he couldn't help but feel a shiver of fear crossing his spine to see that hellish look pointed in his. If a glance had been able to kill him, he was sure he would have died... actually, if it hadn't been for Steve's hand resting on his shoulder and for his annoying and amusing comments like "he fooled you, friend", he would have had serious doubts about being still alive.

As soon as he had enough air in his lungs to be able to speak, he pointed his furious eyes at the now calm and indifferent eyes of the girl. << You! >> He began to say Tony while Steve suggested to him to stay calm.

<< Yes? >> Helena urged him in an amused tone.

<< I am a gentleman and I would never dream of beating up a woman, but know that somehow I will make you pay. >> hissed.

The smile on the girl's lips spread even wider << And what are you going to do? Will you run and cry to your powerful and rich daddy and ask him to convince someone he knows to have me kicked out of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Poor little Stark, who can't even face his strength a fight with one of his contemporaries! >> he said in a mocking tone, making Loki bleach out of concern, making Tony even more bruised with anger, and snatching an amused smile from Bruce and Steve, who thought that his friend was looking for it and that in the end, it was also good for him.

<< It doesn't end here >> hissed the boy in his teeth << Let's go! >> He then summoned his friends to step by step and send them out of the cafeteria. His jaw was contracted, his fists tight, his eyes seemed to send sparks; he had been humiliated, and by an insulting little girl without importance. The whole school would know, he was sure, but he would find a way to take revenge.

Thor did not immediately follow the rest of the group, all the time he had been looking at his brother's new friend in a distraught way: first because of the frightening resemblance between the two - which the others did not seem to have noticed - and then because of his courage in facing Tony to defend Loki.

And he felt guilty.
