Mr. Stark's enough? (continue)

Peter sighed, forcing himself to ignore the gazing. Surprisingly, the first half of the tour even managed to avoid clashes. He stayed one step closer to Ned and M.J., trying to stay close to Miss Warren, because Flash wasn't stupid enough to try to mock Peter out when she could hear. So he was even able to enjoy the tour. Even though he knew a lot of what Kate was talking about, she was very interesting and he had never been to IT before, so it was cool. It wasn't until they took a break for lunch and Peter came down to the table that Flash showed up next to him, slamming Peter's hand with his fork in it. It didn't hurt - Peter doubted that Flash Thompson was capable of physically hurting him (and thank you for that) - but it pissed him off. And it wasn't just Peter who was pissed off - Flash seemed to be boiling with irritation. - So what's the deal with your badge, Penis? How did you get full access? - He asked, wrinkled his nose and grabbed Peter's badge and turned it over to him

- He asked, wrinkled his nose and grabbed Peter's badge and turned it over to himself. Peter hunched and hurriedly pulled his badge out of his hand by the lanyard. But Flash had already seen it.

- No department? So you're not an intern, I knew it! I bet you're just the coolest janitor or something, - he snorted, and his eyes flashed with triumph.

- My badge doesn't have a department, because I'm an intern for more than one particular department, - said Peter, rolling meatballs on a plate.

- AI didn't call you an intern at the gate, - Flash said, apparently believing he'd beaten Peter.

- But she didn't call me a janitor either, - said Peter, who was too angry to remind that the maintenance staff only had access to certain floors.

- Then why do you have full access, Penis? - Flash demanded, crawling into Peter's private space, which instantly gave him goosebumps. His spider's instincts were buzzing, not so much to disturb him, but enough to distract him.

- I'm... I'm Mr. Stark's personal intern, and I need access to where he goes, - he mumbled, but that sounded more like a question than a statement, and Flash, giggling, leaned closer to him.

- Come on, you've never met Mr. Stark face to face, - he said, looking down on Peter's sweatshirt. - "Stark"? And is that like a Tony Stark sports jacket? And where did you find it, on eBay? Even for you it's low. I hope he sees it and laughs, - he grinned mockingly, taking his tray to another table. Ned patted Peter on the back, frowning on Flash as he left.

- I don't understand why you don't want to prove him wrong. All you need to do is say the word to Mr. Stark, and he'll come here and put him in his place, I know for a fact.

- I know that. I think he's going to show up today anyway, if you believe his words, and I have no idea what to expect from him. But I don't have to prove anything to Flash, - Peter sighed, swallowing the last meatballs. - He'd rather think it was a fake. Otherwise, I'll have to explain why I'm wearing a Tony Stark sweatshirt, and I'm not sure I can come up with a good explanation.

- I wasn't just talking about the sweatshirt.

- I know.

They were just on one of the floors of the research department, when everyone realized that Peter really has an internship here. One of the interns, Samuel O'Neill, with whom Peter had worked several times, was actively answering their questions, and Peter got a bad feeling when he saw Flash raise his hand.

- How many trainees do you know? Do you, well, meet everybody, or are you always around only the same faces?

- There are too many trainees here to be able to meet everybody, but I guess I know most of the NID trainees on this floor, as well as two floors up and four floors down, and I can get to know about half of all the NID trainees by sight, as I look after many newcomers, - Samuel answered, shrugging my shoulders indifferently.

- Do you know Peter Parker? - Flash asked with a surprisingly neutral look on his face, and Samuel, surprised, quickly scanned the crowd and smiled widely when he saw Peter.

- Yes, I know Peter, - he said, and Flash was literally baffled. Samuel turned to Peter for a moment. - I didn't know it was your class, Peter. Hi!

Peter smiled and waved at him.

- Wait, so he's really doing his internship here? - Flash made it clear, and frankly, he wasn't the only one who was impressed with the news. Ned giggled quietly, covering his sleeve.

- Yes, and amazingly good. This guy, well, he's just fucking smart, - Sam said, waving his arms, obviously to emphasize how smart he thought Peter was, and then snorting. - Of course, it would be cool if he came down here more often, because we could only get him when we were very lucky. Stark prefers to keep Peter to himself. He's a pretty generous guy, but he gets really greedy when it comes to this kid. Although, if I were him, I'd do the same.
