Alcus was going through everything he knew about the forest in his mind. Alas, he knew, as it turned out, not enough to be indecent. Something about moss on the north side of the tree and birch juice, which you can drink right from the branch. But when he made a knife scratch on the trunk of the birch, it remained dry. And moss grew as it pleases him.
Alec understood that he would be lost in the forest in a few steps.
And if he stayed there, he would starve to death.
Having walked around the house a little more, he finally decided to wait another day. Until tomorrow morning. If the stupid bodyguard doesn't come back, it means he has to leave.
Mark did not come.
Alec's bread ran out yesterday when he chewed on the rest of the bread. I had to drink a second egg. Alc still preferred not to look at the lard. However, when he was going on the road, he took the fatty stuff with him, putting it in a soldier's bag, which was hanging on one of the hooks in the house. He couldn't carry any water with him - not a single bottle of it in the hut, and Alcus thought it was stupid to take a big lid with him. On the other hand, he took a light, a candle, and a knife. The hardest thing was to solve the problem with the blanket. It was hard to drag him, and without him, you could freeze to the bone in the woods at night. Alcus eventually found a rope and folded the blanket tightly into a tight rolling pin. It still turned out to be bulky and uncomfortable, but still better than nothing. Alexander made a strap out of the rest of the rope and hung it over his shoulder.
Everything. He had no more business to do here.
The road was waiting.
He took a farewell look at the forest hut and, while he was not sure, walked in the direction that Mark would normally go. Alec knew he could die in the woods, but staying put meant dying even more.
Almost immediately, the prince realized that everything was not so bad - not far from home, he saw the road, though it was overgrown, but still the road. Or at least something reminiscent of her. Of course, because somehow they came here! So, if you walk along with it and do not turn anywhere, sooner or later the road will seem more burnt or some village. Rejoiced at this thought, Alcus even started to whistle his favorite military march. Soon the sun did break through the clouds, and the mood immediately became just great. Now the thoughts of death seemed to be just cowardice. There was a beautiful and wonderful forest around it, leaves and herbs were covered with sparkling diamonds of droplets, and sunlight was flowing through the green lace with golden rays.
I wanted to live and rejoice!
Soon Alcus became hot, and he stuck his jacket in a soldier's bag. He was also thinking of throwing a blanket, but that would have been an irrational thing to do. Going out to people does not mean finding warm shelter. In any village in Alexandra, a stranger is immediately recognized. It is better to spend the night sneaking around in someone else's shed, steal food in the dark, and then get out to the city. From there, you can easily get to Valentine's Palace. There's a big village nearby, any coachman knows the way to it. Alcus checked on the spot whether the bag of coins, which he gave Andrew's father because the fare will have to pay. And immediately remembered about his younger friend...
Where is he now? Probably lives without worries and worries in some estates near the city. He eats well and sleeps sweetly... And he stays in full confidence that Alexander is also okay.
Alcus breathed a sigh and added a step. I wanted to get somewhere soon. And finally, quench the nasty hunger that reduces the stomach with unpleasant spasms.
It would be great to come up with such an amazing car - you pressed the lever and ended up where you want... Alcus imagined it vividly - big, all in round rivets, like a board of a steamboat ...
After a couple of hours, the road suddenly made a turn and merged with the other, noticeably better. Here the grass and moss did not grow in the tracks, and the ground was dense and trampled. Alcus smiled with an encouraging smile and decided that he could rest a little. Now he won't get lost and won't die in the deaf more often. The forest no longer seemed ominous and dangerous to him. Moreover, the sun was baking hotter and hotter. Alcus even took off his shirt and set up a light-skinned back in August. It's funny to say he never got a chance to get a tan all summer... Even here, in the woods, Mark did not allow him to leave the hunting lodge for long. And now Alcus was completely free - neither mentors nor guards. Do what you want.
And he did.
