I recently got a video recorder from Pioneer, model VREC-100CH. This is the first time I've tested gadgets from this renowned manufacturer (according to my information, production was opened not so long ago) and I'm really interested. Looking ahead, the price of the device is in the "initial" price range, and therefore the interest is even greater.
The model can be said to be "mass", and therefore there are no "special" features, such as GPS and other (what is said "workhorse"), but it is worth noting the presence of LDWS for the sake of justice. But all in order, we start with unpacking

User manual and warranty card. It's an ascetic set, but it's all there.
Box
The box is made in red-and-white tones, made of hard cardboard, with colored "prints", which is not a shame.
APPEARANCE AND CONNECTORS
The front end. The main lens, the speakers directly underneath, and the cooling slots.
The top line. Thread for fastening (yes, everything is unusual here, about it a little bit lower).
Right side. Power key, memory card slot.
Left side. Mini USB, RESET key, TV output.
The back of it. 2.7 inch main display (TFT) and navigation keys below.
Bottom line. Main microphone.
In general, Pioneer VREC is a 100CH "almost" standard video recorder (if you consider the form factor). Why almost? It's all about attaching the suction cup (see below).
The case is well made, here I have no claims (nothing creaks), I initially thought that the upper frame is made of aluminum, but no - plastic! But really qualitative, pleasant to the touch. Buttons, under the display, do not make any rattling sound (sit tightly).
MAIN MENU
Next in the review is the configuration of the DVR. "MENU" is called by the leftmost key with a picture on which the grid is drawn. But first, you need to stop the recording, the middle key "OK" (red, do not confuse).
In fact, there are only three tabs in the menu (it will be detailed in the video review):
Video mode. Here you can configure everything concerning video - resolution, quality, auto-recording, recording cycle, audio recording, etc.

Adjustment. In this item you can set the date, time, stamp, frequency, display shutdown, etc.

The tongue. In fact, you choose between Russian and English.
Language
The menu is simple and intuitive, it can be understood by the most inexperienced user.
FEATURES AND IRON
Now it's time in our review to talk about the capabilities and iron of our Pioneer.
IRON
Processor: The Mstar MSC8328 is a low-cost solution used in low-cost video surveillance systems. When optimized well, it works stably with the matrix
Matrix: AR0330 (from company Aptina), again the budgetary decision, however as practice shows, transfers quite a qualitative picture (again at good optimization with the processor). It is necessary to note its physical permission in 3,5 inches, and it allows to remove 2304х1296 without a crown, that is used all surface of a matrix
U-turn angle: How many times have I not found, but personally I think the angle is about 150 - 160 degrees horizontally
Lens: 6G six-layer, F=2.0 aperture, not the highest result (let me remind you here, the less, the better to shoot in the dark). But for the gadget "entry-level" is not bad.
Rear display: 2,7 inches, TFT technology
Battery: (Li-pol). How many searched, and did not find the information, but keeps around 5 - 10 minutes, no more.
