Childhood and youth

Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck was born on April 1, 1815, in a place called Schoenhausen in Brandenburg. In those years, the city belonged to the state of Saxony in Prussia. The boy belongs to an ancient aristocratic family whose ancestors were famous political figures. Otto loves his father very much. His father was a retired cavalry captain after serving in the military. The mother spends all her time raising her children, but her son does not think of her tenderness.

The boy grew up with his brothers and sisters. There are 6 children in the family. Three brothers and sisters died in childhood. Otto is the fourth child. When he was one year old, the family moved to Pomerania and then to Konarzhevo, where the childhood of future politicians passed. The father inherited the property from his cousin. Here, the boy has a brother and sister Bernard and Malvina.

When Otto was 7 years old, he was sent to an elite boarding school in Berlin. Then he became a gym student at Graue Kloster. In 1832, the young man entered the University in Hanover, chose to study law and returned to Berlin one year later. While receiving education, Feng Bismai is also engaged in diplomatic work.

At first, he served as an administrative employee and then obtained a seat at the Potsdam Court of Appeal. The measured activities did not impress Otto's ambition and enthusiasm. He thinks the subject is boring. In his youth, he was called a naughty person; in college, he was known for his grumpy, ambiguous character. As a student, he often participates in a duel and rarely loses to his opponent.

Occupation and military service

In 1837, the young man served as a volunteer to the Greifswald camp. As early as 1839, when his mother died, his brother von Bismarck was involved in the management of family property. He is 24 years old and Otto shows his wise judgment and literacy plan that many acquaintances are surprised. Von Bismarck is a prudent, frugal but grumpy landlord. Since 1846, Otto has been working in the office to manage the work of the dam. He travels extensively across Europe and independently forms political insights.

Otto von Bismarck dreamed of doing political work, but it didn't develop very quickly, because most of his friends remember the suspicious reputation and explosiveness of this young man. In 1847, von Bismarck became a member of the United Kingdom's United Landtag, and from that moment on, he could not stop moving forward. Over the years, revolutions are taking place in Europe, where liberals and socialist associations struggle for the rights and freedoms outlined in the Constitution. The new politician who preached the conservative principle turned out to be an unexpected person in the public eye. The supporters of King Prussia pointed out his speech and approval. To defend the right of the monarchy, von Smack expressed opposition.

Politicians formed a Conservative Party and participated in the creation of Kreuz-Zeitung publications. Otto, on behalf of the young aristocrats in the parliament, understood the lack of compromise. He advocates the establishment of a single parliament and leads his power.

In 1850, the official took a seat in the Erfurt parliament and opposed the constitution and politics that might trigger a conflict with Austria. Von Bismarck foresees the failure of Prussia. Insight helped him get a ministerial seat in the Bundestag in Frankfurt am Main. Despite the lack of diplomatic experience, Otto quickly acquired the necessary skills and reputation.

In 1857, von Bismarck became the Prussian ambassador to Russia. He has held this position until 1862. He often visits the country and visits St. Petersburg, and is friendly with Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Gorchakov. The Germans considered him a political “godfather” because he partially adopted the diplomatic style of Russian friends. Von Bismarck learned a strange language and felt the thoughts and characters of the nation.

One of his famous remarks is to warn that war between Germany and Russia is not allowed because it will adversely affect the Germans.
