proof-of-work system
Proof of performance is a principle of protection of systems against abuse of services (e.g. DoS-attacks or spamming), based on the need for some rather complex long-term work (POW-tasks), the result of which is easily and quickly checked by the service provider (one-way function).
The main feature of these schemes is asymmetry time-consuming - duration for the requestor and high response speed.
