Yellow is chosen by people who are looking for a changed, liberating relationship to defuse the expected way of exciting tension and be able to open up, to achieve the desired. They hope for relief by relieving them of the load that oppresses them like an addiction. Pregnant women who are trained for "fearless" labour tend to prefer yellow, according to statistics. They need a waiting strain and an irritant of hope, so as not to sink into a disappointed, depressed relaxation. The preference for yellow is observed in people who, because of the lack of housing, because of home conditions, in longing for distant countries, go on trips. Those who are fond of "flying" and eager to break away from the surrounding reality also prefer yellow. From the tension (green) and inexorability of real life, some people run to the world of ideas (yellow). It is believed that yellow is the colour of enlightenment, so the halo of Christ and the saints is also yellow.

Yellow, as the colour of discharge, freeing from irritating tension, expresses only the nervous and mental state. Although it also reflects a state that stimulates fantastic ideas, (as any individual colour) does not say anything about the real spiritual world of man. The pull of yellow to the surface can even reflect the surface of the person and his expansion - useless activity. In this case, the irritating tension arising from - for unmet needs, simply jammed by banal excitement. If hopes are not justified, then there is an unpleasant feeling. Which the popular rumour attributes to yellow. Yellow is the colour of envy. The hopeful one prefers yellow, disappointed rejects it.

In a survey of 200 chronic alcoholics, it turned out that yellow was rejected most strongly, while purple was given a strong preference. When the disillusioned one rejects yellow, he has not yet experienced any pain of loss. The irritated tension that calls for hope and expectation is accumulating and can become threatening. The colour test states a critical condition: when the desperate person "grasps at straws" and wants to force the last hope, he chooses yellow again, but together with the forcing black. Often he, like Van Gogh, in whose last picture (June 1890) black crows circling under the blueness of black thunderclouds over a worrying yellow wheat field, stands on the verge of self-destruction. In the categories of time, green expresses the frozen duration, while yellow, on the contrary, corresponds to an uncertain future and has not yet been implemented. Yellow is excited - tensely strives for a denouement, that is, forward, for the expected better future.

Green is yellow.

If you add a subtle amount of green to the pure, it will look colder and lighter. Clarity and light contradict the instinctive requirements that easily plunge into conflict situations and burden us. Whoever prefers greenish lemon-yellow slows down moving impulses, controls himself, watches over others and his behaviour, avoiding conflicts. Such behaviour, often based on a critical, sharp mind, serves as self-defence. Such people are always careful not to be criticized, rejected or compromised.

Brown is yellow.

Amber honey-yellow has the opposite effect. It combines two contradictions: light and lightness of yellow and darkness and gravity of brown. Although it is still dominated by yellow as the colour of self-disclosure and contact, instead of the surface and variability of pure yellow - brown - yellow expresses a sensual pleasure. The choice of this colour indicates the need for a happy, full of pleasure, gentle - a gentle stay.

Red - yellow.

If a pure yellow is added to the excitatory red, and the resulting colour is approaching orange, the main importance of yellow - the disclosure and establishment of contacts - is amplified in the direction of the activity intensity. Thanks to red, yellow become fuller and more powerful. It expresses a spontaneous, voluptuous - joyful feeling and emotions. There is no good sense of restraint or sophistication here. Red - yellow and orange convey the atmosphere, often depicted by old Dutch masters in the paintings with fancy soldiers and magnificent girls.

If yellow is the expression of liberation and happiness, it is this value that is enhanced by the polished, shiny surface of gold. Gold, regardless of its purchasing power, expresses a sense of radiant happiness
