Pseudoscience: pros and cons (Part 1)

Since mankind has been able to express thoughts and transmit the experience of cognition of the world around it, an intermediate field has formed between knowledge and ignorance, in which there has always been room to describe the mysterious actions of sorcerers, predictions of astrologers, unidentified flying objects and much more, which is a subject of "alternative science". Recently, when the world, and our country in particular, was overwhelmed by the wave of "information revolution", the public interest in the supernatural, in denying the achievements of the mind and in the many manifestations of irrationality and mysticism in our daily lives has increased significantly. Of course, such trends have taken place throughout human history, but it is now that this topic has become the most relevant, and therefore has been widely disseminated in terms of both publication material and the main aspect of all kinds of discussions. The universal passion for "alternative science" (meaning those who are serious about it and those who show only a purely superficial interest) has its roots, various reasons, motivations, and consequences, including negative ones.

It is worth noting that the form of pseudoscientific knowledge is also characterized by a very rich history. But before we begin to study this problem, we should turn to the definition of pseudoscience.

Pseudoscience (from Greek ψευδής - "false" + science; synonym - pseudoscience, similar terms in meaning: paranauka, alternative science, non-academic science) - activity or teaching, consciously or unconsciously imitating science, but in fact they are not.

Тand there is another common definition of pseudoscience: imaginary or false science; a set of beliefs about the world that is mistakenly regarded as based on scientific method or as having the status of modern scientific truths.
