1. Quicksand - Netflix will try again to draw public attention to the pressing problems of teenagers. In its time, the project 13 reasons why (13 Reasons Why) did not discuss only lazy. The new drama Quicksand, based on the novel of the same name by Malin Person Giolito, will tell about the trial of a minor Maya Norberg, who committed a real massacre within the walls of her school, brought weapons and shot pupils and teachers. It must be admitted that Maya used a highly controversial way to reach out to adults so that she could be heard and listened to. During the trial, many unpleasant details of Maya's everyday school life, her classmates and teachers, who the school management would prefer to "bury and forget", will come to the surface, but it will not work. I don't know what her peers and teachers did to her, in any case, it's not an excuse to organize lynching with a weapon in her hands. However, we will not go ahead and condemn Maya without learning all the details and circumstances of the case.
I have a very ambiguous attitude toward such projects. On the one hand, teenagers are very vulnerable, and they need to be treated carefully and gently; they consider themselves adults, but their actions often say the opposite. On the other hand, even a teenager is able to understand that the cold-blooded murder of a person cannot be "covered up and justified". Therefore, parents, be careful and decide for yourself whether your child should watch Quicksand, and what lesson your child can learn after watching this opus.
Premiere: April 5.

2. Wisting is a Scandinavian detective...mmm...sounds like music. What can I hide here, European detectives are my weakness). So cruel-bloodthirsty maniacs and such strangely frozen detectives you won't find anywhere else, only in the expanses of decent Europe. So, who will the police catch this time? In a small town, somewhere in Norway, there was a brutal murder. The victim is Viggo Hansen, an inconspicuous, ordinary person. At first glance, this murder makes no sense. The case is given to Detective William Whisting, and in the course of the investigation, he suddenly finds out that everything is not so "prosaic". Viggo is another victim of a serial killer maniac. Therefore, it is quite expected that this victim is not the first, and, worst of all, perhaps not the last.
Well, here we go! The "dissolved the soul" with a close date of the premiere, and when we will get a translated version in Russian - not specified. That's why we add the series to the list of "good people will voice Whisting someday" and we are waiting.
Premiere: April 11.
Country: Norway.
3. The Red Line is a psychological drama on an eternally lively theme - racial confrontation.
Night. Street. A small shop. A dark-skinned guy comes in to buy some unnecessary stuff. Literally, after him, the second black man comes in and, threatening with a gun, yells: "Give me the money!" After the robber took all the money out of the register, he hit the seller behind the counter with a gun and ran away. The first boy turned out to be a doctor and tried to help the seller. At that time, the police came into the shop, and what do they see? The tall guy has his back to them, pulls his hands to the frightened shopkeeper, and what he can't see in his hands, and the policeman shoots the boy in the back without thinking for a long time! Bam-bam, and... a white policeman killed an unarmed black guy who wanted to do his professional and human duty. And then the story will be told from the point of view of the people involved (or not involved in this flagrant case: the family of the deceased doctor, the family of the policeman and, where without him, the public opinion.
The series asked for itself - over the past year, quite often in the press flashed articles about the abuse of power by police officers in the United States. On the other hand, does it look like another "stone thrown into the garden" of white people? I understand that the topic is topical, acutely social and very slippery. Scriptwriters, in this situation, have no right to be on anybody's side, must tell and show the feelings and reaction to what is happening in the most unbiased way. But it is impossible! The writer is not a journalist; the writer is a storyteller. And the story, first of all, it is emotions and personal attitude. I doubt the impartiality of the authors of the script.
Therefore, I will take the Red Line to the series "reflections". Let's see the season, and then we will draw conclusions.
Premiere: April 29.
Country: USA.
