New TV shows in May 2019

1. Chernobyl is a new project from the IEE. The series is based on real events and will tell about the catastrophe of 1986 when the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded in the fourth unit. A government commission was sent from Moscow to the site of the accident to investigate the causes of the accident.

For reference: the government commission arrived in Pripyat the day after the accident. It was headed by Boris Shcherbina. The commission included Academician Valery Alexeevich Legasov, who suggested that the burning reactor be covered with a mixture of boron, lead, and dolomite clay from helicopters and insisted on the immediate and complete evacuation of the city of Pripyat. Valery Alekseevich spent there for more than four months (instead of 2-3 weeks.

But was there a member of the real commission nuclear physicist Ulyana Khomyuk - Vicki is silent. But in the series, she will be the third key figure.

If such a brave lady did not exist at all, then it is strange to hear from the creators of the promise that they will stick to the facts, show the catastrophe through the eyes of people, no fantasies.

That's what the movie is waiting for us in May. We will watch it.

2. The Society is another experiment by Netflix, under the motto No parents. There are no rules. There is no way out. A group of teenagers is returning to their hometown after the trip, and there...all the adults have disappeared for unknown reasons. The young people are trying to figure out what happened while they were away, and at the same time not to fall into complete lawlessness and anarchy.

Presenting the official trailer, the Netflix channel did not become modest, but stated proudly, as they say, the new series Society is nothing more than a modern version of the "Lord of the Flies" William Golding. It sounds very presumptuous, however. I can't say that this novel is my handbook, but I read it with pleasure at the time. And with a great deal of confidence I can say that in the current realities, the story "what will the kids do if adults are not home" is unlikely to be as "instructive", given the tendency of modern writers to overdo it with tolerance and political correctness. Or, on the contrary, will try to aggravate everything to such an extent that the screen will appear before us not teenagers, but real monsters.

Honestly, I will not bet on this "horse". However, to whom there is nothing to do in holidays, Netflix will start in hire at once all season - for the whole day precisely enough.

3. L.A's Finest - the police procedure with great Jessica Alba and Gabriela Union in the lead roles. Beware of the criminals of Los Angeles (or better yet, run away from the city), because the pretty women with tokens and guns are determined to clear the streets of the city of "all sorts of unwanted bullshit".

Remember the good fighter Bad guys 2 (2003)? And the sister of Detective Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), Sydney? She was actively cared for by her partner Markus Mike (Will Smith). That's Sydney Burnett (Gabriela Union) and there is one of the detectives in the new series Best in Los Angeles). And her partner Nancy McKenna will be played by Jessica Alba.

Well done, girls! They didn't wait for a truckload of oranges to turn over on their street and someone will offer them roles. They themselves became the producers of their own show, inviting Jerry Bruckheimer's company (Pirates of the Caribbean). After that, they persuaded Anton Cropper (Force Majeure) to shoot the pilot series and...

And here's what this whole thing worked out, we'll find out in the middle of May. I wish the girls good luck, because, after Rizzoli & Isles, I can't remember the successful female investigators' tandems.

4. The InBetween is a mystical police procedure. The protagonist Cassie Bishop has a gift - she sees the dead, communicates with them, helps the dead to complete their unfinished business and quietly goes into the other world. One day she was approached by an old friend of hers, Detective Tom Hackett and his new partner, former FBI agent Damien Asante. They asked her to help with the murder investigation. This is how Cassie became a "consultant" in the police service without being noticed.

So far, I've been enjoying it. Remember the old glorious Medium series with Patricia Arrkett? I was even a little upset when it was closed. The show lived seven seasons and gathered a huge army of fans. I think the guide also has all the chances to find his audience. And what does it depend on? Right, from the "complicated and confusing cases" that Cassie and her partners will be investigating. By the way, casting is very soulful. To the role of Cassie was invited to a very pleasant, in every respect, the lady Harriet Dyer (Reik), her friend Tom will play beautiful Paul Blackthorne (Arrow, River), and Damien - Justin Cornwall (Empire).

It remains to wait until the end of May, and then, with the help of the Guide, we will look into the world of the dead with one eye.
