This sport was invented around 2000 by Greg Glassman. Thanks to his creative flair and experience gained over his long career as a gymnast, he had the idea of combining a number of high-intensity exercises borrowed from different sports (such as weightlifting, powerlifting and so on) with small restful intervals (so to speak).
In a nutshell, he created a practice based on intensity, which in a short time was so successful that it required the opening of about 13 thousand new sports centers (it is perhaps unnecessary to point out that a large number of them are based in the United States).

Crossfit, we have already announced it in some way, is nothing more than a long series of functional movements, different from one training session to another, to be performed at a frantic pace (at least for common mortals).
The athlete exercises endurance, but also flexibility, coordination, speed and all those physical characteristics that increase the performance in sport in general. Once you have reached a level of general physical preparation of all importance, finally, you can specialize in a particular athletic gesture rather than in another.
A particularly interesting aspect of this discipline is the possibility to customize the program of exercises from time to time or from case to case. In technical terms, in short, crossfit is a scalable physical exercise.
Another useful information: your training session will last about an hour. In particular, you will be asked to warm up your muscles first, then train your strength or perfect a given exercise, so you'll have to start to get really serious: in fact, the WOD awaits you. This acronym usually indicates the work of the day (WOD is in fact the acronym for Work Of the Day).
