Problem fertility reminds newcomers to forget the marriage check

Not long ago, a hospital in Xicheng received two cases of fetal malformation caused by syphilis in pregnant women and had to interrupt pregnancy. According to the hospital yesterday, the important reason for this consequence is that neither of the two pregnant women had undergone premarital medical examination. Since the removal of mandatory marriage inspections, many newcomers who have entered the marriage hall often neglect premarital medical examinations, thus burying hidden dangers in future marriage and childbearing, and even triggering family tragedies that should not occur.

According to figures from relevant departments, the number of people receiving marriage inspections in Xicheng has plummeted since the removal of mandatory pre-marital medical examinations in October of the previous year. In the Binhu District Maternal and Child Health Center, the number of people receiving marriage inspections in 2004 was only 125, which was only 2.9% in 2003. Another set of numbers associated with this is shocking: in 2003, 25 birth defects were born in the Lake District, and in 2004 it surged to 79, which was 3.16 times that of the previous year. In mid-2004, there were more than 10 cases of neonatal congenital heart disease in a street in the district due to factors such as parents not having pre-marital examination.

A medical worker said that it cannot be said that a child born with congenital heart disease is caused directly by a marriage test, but it cannot be ruled out that it is not related to a marriage test.

In 2003, the Binhu District Maternal and Child Health Center detected 632 patients through the marriage inspection, including designated infectious diseases (including sexually transmitted diseases), serious genetic diseases, mental illness, reproductive system diseases, internal medicine systems and other systemic diseases, the prevalence rate It reached 14.8%; in 2004, the number of patients diagnosed was only 14%. This set of figures shows that unhealthy factors are objective in the normal population. The health care center can detect more than 10 cases of syphilis through the marriage test every year before 2003. Syphilis is a must-check item for a marriage test. If it is found, it can be treated. If it is cured, it can be married and fertility will not be affected.

  • One geneticist had predicted that birth defects would increase by 50-80% in the next few years after the mandatory pre-marital medical examination was cancelled. To this end, the doctor reminded: pre-marital medical examination is the last "defense line" before the newcomer enters the marriage hall. It is the "first pass" for prenatal and postnatal care. It is wise to choose a marriage test before marriage.
  • This is the first time you are waiting for a baby. Behind the exciting minutes of waiting for the test results, the first trip to the doctor, the first ultrasound, the first vitamins that you chose to touch, not yet knowing what you need. And now ... Now you have bought a pile of magazines about pregnancy and childbirth, on the table are a pile of books of the same subject, and the list of home pages on your network has been replenished with a dozen or two sites about mothers and children. And this is correct and understandable: you are all interested in reading these articles, you are communicating with your baby, more and more you get used to the idea that you will be a mother. And most importantly - you want to be ready for everything that awaits you. It is so? At least I wanted to be ready. Ready for the surprises of pregnancy, childbirth, the first meeting with the baby, life in the hospital, and most importantly - after it.
