1. Deception is a detective procedure. The greatest magician and illusionist, Cameron Black, due to certain problems in life, gets into the service of the FBI consultant. To my great surprise, it turned out to be very, very, very discreet. It's easy, funny, artistic, with tricks and dramatic background. Cameron Black not only "invents" and realizes mega-illuminations, but in the end, reveals and "shows" how he managed to pull it off. And who doesn't like tricks?!
2. Altered Carbon - Netflix's cyber-punk creation, how to "carry" the consciousness of one person into the body of another, and then hire this "other" person to find the murderer. The series has become a clear example to me that marketing rules in the serials as well. I would not be surprised if the creators analyzed the successful projects of recent years and derived the formula "cool show of our time. It is also clear to the fool that the nontrivial idea of the plot is only half of the case. It is not a bad idea to fill this idea with hidden philosophical implication, to frame it with action, noir atmosphere, excellent special effects, to introduce brutal and cynical macho-GG, to generously fertilize sex and bloodsucking, to add little love feelings... and ... we get a show that is far from being a masterpiece, but it is done qualitatively, on the conscience and to the benefit of the viewer. And as it turned out, it costs a lot of money these days... about 70 million bucks. The series did not cause antagonism. It was fun! Money was not spent in vain.
3. Dogs of Berlin is hard German trash by Netflix, shot under the close supervision of Christian Alvart (Pandorum). On the eve of the responsible football match killed a key player in the German national team, and the investigation was entrusted to a former neo-fascist, now a detective from East Berlin Kurt Grimmer and gay cop Erol Berkanu. It even sounds outrageous, and Alvart still made it worse by such cynical "truthfulness", only have time to "digest"! I love thrash European series, where without "rainbow and unicorns" they show the reality as it is. Where no one cuts off the "sharp corners", does not sweeten the pill, did not try to disguise the reality and does not cover the shameful places fig leaf. Everything is as it is - das is a realist!. Berlin Dogs - an unrealistic serial!
4. The ruthless sun (Hurd Sun) - English hardcore on the theme of the end of the world. Two hackers hacked into what they shouldn't have done and recorded on a flash drive what they shouldn't have done. The flash drive accidentally fell into the hands of police officers Elaine Renco and Charlie Hicks. The flash drive was top-secret documents on the project "Ruthless Sun", which said that the world will sink into oblivion in five years and it is impossible to prevent the end of the world. MI5 intends to return the flash drive at any cost to keep everything secret. But part of the information leaked to the press, and the world went mad! As well as the creators of the series (in a good sense of the word)). In six episodes, they ruthlessly (sorry for the tautology) pushed all at once: the government conspiracy against humanity, the prequel of the apocalypse, police, intelligence, maniacs, hackers, total surveillance. All (or almost all) known film genres were mixed up: thriller, detective, action movie, drama, melodrama. Too much? A little bit. But the ruthless sun is very cool, trash and gloomy! Everything as I like.
5. The pose is this year's most provocative series from Ryan Murphy (Enemy) about gay life and transgressions in New York in 1987. The main characters (and not only), as in the fairy tale, go to balls every night, and there is fun, joy, chic, glitter and beauty. And in the morning they wake up in a real-world where intolerance towards people with non-traditional sexual orientation goes off the scale; where parents kick a child out into the street because he is "different"; where they can't find a normal job - they're not like everybody else; where AIDS "blossoms with terry color"...and many more similar "where". Murphy tells the story of Blanca and her "family" in such unusual "scenery". Beautiful, touching, sentimental, humankind history. However, despite this, the series is not for everyone - 50 LGBT characters on the screen can not do anything. The posture is shocking, scandalous, ambiguous, certainly controversial, but touching and topical! Murphy in his repertoire).
6. The burden of truth (Burden of Truth) - Canadian Erin Brockovitch, aka Joanna Hanley's lawyer - will be played by the timeless Christine Kroik (Smallville Secrets), - represents the interests of a group of girls (they are ill with an unknown disease) in a complex collective lawsuit against a huge corporation. The confrontation between the two sides looks easy and enjoyable. Find reliable and reinforced concrete arguments and evidence to convince the court of the guilt of the defendant, it was not easy and quite laborious, but honest lawyer Joanna does not give up and craves justice. However, the creators are a little too much with "mimicry and veal tenderness" and, instead of a tough struggle for the right thing, turned out to be a charming ladies' novel, where the good altruistic samaritans will win. So, yes, yes, it is. So, may men forgive me, despite the seriousness of the topic, the Burden of Truth is still for the beautiful half of humanity).
