Sarah
Another day had begun and the two girls were still in Camelot. Every night she closed her eyes, Sarah thought, with a mixture of fear and hope, that she would wake up in her bed and discover that this adventure had all been a dream.
Being in Camelot for her and her sister was a dream come true, but they could not ignore having a life in their century. I wonder if someone had noticed their disappearance and was desperately looking for them, or if the weather had been suspended at the moment when they had been catapulted back and no one would have noticed their absence. He hoped strongly in the second option.
She sat at the table where Gwen - a young and kind servant - left breakfast for her and Honey before retiring to her duties in silence, so as not to wake the other girl.
Sarah watched her sister sleep peacefully and was relieved. Although he had never told her anything he knew of his insomnia, even at home he often heard her waking up in the middle of the night, agitated, frightened by some nightmare. It happened when they were still sleeping in the same room, in middle schooldays, and he knew it had continued. He was aware of the constant tiredness of his sister, of the dark marks under his eyes that he tried to mask with kilos of concealer.
Fortunately, it seemed that staying in Camelot did her good, as a sort of vacation. Of course, he slept more in the morning than at night, but at least he slept. He had to admit that the air we breathed there put a certain peace in her too ... and then there was Merlin.
He heard a knock at the door and, almost as if his thoughts had called him, Merlin's voice answered her from the other side. Instinctively, Sarah permitted him to enter as she smoothed some invisible folds on the skirt of the green dress she had decided to wear for that day, only to remember that her sister was still half-naked in bed a few steps away. He glanced at her and luckily he saw her well covered by the sheets.
The raven then opened the door and greeted Sarah with a reverence and a shy smile, only to move away, allowing Prince Arthur to enter the room.
"I'd like to talk to your sister about something," the blond said, looking at her seriously.
Sarah felt a certain movement of anxiety at the idea of having to wake up her sister in front of them, knowing all the colorful curses that would come out of the other's mouth from being woken up, and in fact it was what happened when, after several and useless attempts, Sarah was forced to throw open the curtains she had previously left closed so as not to disturb Honey, causing her to go straight into the sun.
"We have guests" coughed in an attempt to block the string of curses that would have turned both heaven and hell upside down.
"But who the hell are you ... Damn!" Honey muttered when he noticed the presence of the two young men, standing a few steps from his bed. She sat up, pushing aside the sheets and remaining covered only by a tank top and a pair of tracksuit shorts that barely reached her mid-thigh.
"B-hello, Lady Honey," Merlin stammered, red to the tips of his ears, while Arthur didn't seem to feel any embarrassment "Did you sleep well, my lady?" He asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Up until a minute ago, yes. But don't you knock? "He replied insolently with a grim look at the prince.
"They knocked, Honey, you never feel anything," said Sarah, struggling to laugh and scold her sister for her questionable manner. "Arthur wanted to talk to you about something."
Merlin - who until then had fixed the floor - looked up at her and smiled at her. Sarah smiled back, she was glad to see it.
"I'm here to talk about the tournament, specifically about your participation," said Arthur, turning to Honey.
She looked at him, raising an eyebrow in disappointment. "What's wrong?"
"If the other participants saw a woman as a competitor, they might think I want the easy win."
Sarah stiffened. Arthur had made the situation a bad one - awful - fold, Honey would have eaten him alive for that sexist affirmation. He glanced briefly at his twin and noticed a spark in his green eyes that he knew all too well, and that did not herald anything good.
