The Amur tiger (also known as the Ussurian tiger) is the largest tiger species and the rarest fauna. The tiger is more than three metres long and reaches a height of one metre in the hills. There is no tiger with exactly the same pattern in the world.

The reasons for the extinction were deforestation in the animal's habitat and a decrease in the amount of tiger's fodder, as well as environmental degradation, but the main reason for the extinction was the mass poaching caused by hunting for the beautiful animal's skin.
Only this tiger species is able to survive any severe winter. Its skin becomes lighter in winter, thicker and very fluffy. He easily mastered life in the snow. His body structure helps him in this. The Amur tiger has wide legs with which he easily moves along high snowdrifts and snows in pursuit of his prey. Predator easily hunts even at night, his sight is 5 times better than that of a man. Having huge size, the tiger can't stand it. In order to get hold of the prey, he has to sneak up on it very close, and this is where the colouring helps, which merges with the dry grass. The Amur tiger easily feeds itself not only by hunting, but also by fishing. When a fish goes for spawning, it catches it on mountain river crossings. Lack of vitamins in the body of the tiger fills up the vitamins, sometimes eating grass.
Reproduction takes place every two years. In spring, the tiger produces offspring. Usually 2-3 tigers are born. They are very similar to kittens, but larger in size. They are also blind without teeth. They feed on their mother's milk for up to two months. Then the tiger begins to carry them meat and when the tigers turn six months old they accompany their mother on the hunt. She patiently and thoroughly passes on all her experience to her offspring. All the difficulties the tiger faces alone, the male does not take any part in the upbringing of her offspring, although she often lives with them.
The Amur tiger lives in the wild for 16-18 years. Life expectancy in captivity is much longer than about 25 years.

Tigers stock up on subcutaneous fat so that they can survive in winter, when it is very cold and there is almost no food. Tigers can even die in winter without food. The tiger lives in natural conditions for about 15 years, and can live in a zoo for up to 30 years. The tigers are very strong, so he doesn't have any special enemies, but only a big brown bear can cope with it.
