Pregnancy brings with it some changes that affect the body of the future mother, sometimes making her feel less beautiful or appreciated on the physical plane. As midwives also recommend during a preparatory course, you should not stop caring and feeling good. It is sufficient to pay attention to how the beauty treatments you undergo are carried out and to put in place some useful devices. Firstly, pregnant women should not give up manicures and pedicures. Pregnancy brings with it some changes that affect the body of the future mother, sometimes making her feel less beautiful or appreciated on the physical plane. In this period many women would like to take better care of their appearance and undergo the most common beauty treatments, but they are convinced that they are not appropriate during pregnancy.

As midwives also recommend during a preparatory course, you should not stop caring and feeling good. It is sufficient to pay attention to how the beauty treatments you undergo are carried out and to put in place some useful devices.

Firstly, pregnant women should not give up manicures and pedicures. Doctors do not forbid the use of nail polish during pregnancy, but advice not to apply it in the first three months, which are perhaps the most delicate of the whole period. The products used in these treatments contain traces of solvents, so it is necessary to ask those who perform the manicure to follow some precautions: the application of the enamel must take place in an environment with a window and well ventilated, to prevent the future mother initiate chemicals.

Then it is better to avoid the use of false nails, which are applied with a glue that may contain harmful substances. Finally, future mothers must demand that the tools used by the beautician be sterilized and that they avoid putting the nail polish near the cuticles, through which women could come into contact with harmful material or bacteria.

It is also not necessary to remove the hair removal sessions from the beautician, although they may become less frequent because estrogen slows down hair regrowth. During the months of pregnancy, it is advisable to prefer cold waxing or "oriental" waxing using Kalawa sugar. It is better to avoid the hot variant, which can have negative consequences on the blood vessels, causing the rupture of the capillaries due to the strong tears. Women who do not want to go to the beautician can use the electric epilator or the razor, but with the care not to cause cuts on the legs.

Even if the chemicals contained in the product remain in contact with the skin only superficially, doctors do not recommend the use of depilatory creams that could cause irritation. Laser, electrocoagulation, pulsed light and all those new treatments designed for permanent hair removal are prohibited: they must be postponed until after the birth, always after consulting a specialist.

In order to feel more attractive, pregnant women can also continue to treat their hair. Except for the first three months of pregnancy, dyes, streaks, and highlights are not prohibited. However, you should ask your hairdresser to use products that are also suitable for pregnant women.

In particular, it is advisable to prefer colors that do not contain ammonia, harmful substances (resorcinol, for example) or that may cause allergic reactions (nickel and others). Sunstrokes and streaks, on the other hand, have no contraindications, because the coloring product does not come into contact with the skin.

Henna is also a completely safe product for the unborn child because it is natural, but it could cause contact dermatitis in the future mother. In any case, before starting any treatment to color the scalp, it is always better to tell the hairdresser to be pregnant, so that she can take all the necessary measures.

Finally, relaxing massages are not forbidden - but rather recommended - provided that they are carried out by specialized operators and after receiving the gynecologist's approval. Getting massage relaxes the muscles and helps to counteract annoying back pain.

Some masseurs are experts in lymphatic drainage techniques that facilitate blood circulation, giving relief to the legs and thus reduce swelling to swollen and tired legs. Massages to the abdominal area are not recommended.

Even during pregnancy, it is important to continue to feel beautiful and fit.
