There was a man in the woods near the Blue Mountains. He worked a lot, and the work wasn't reduced, and he couldn't go home on vacation.

Finally, when winter came, he got bored, asked his bosses for permission, and sent his wife a letter to come to visit him with the kids.

He had two kids - Chuk and Huck.

And he and his mother lived in a far-away huge city, which is better than any other city in the world.

Red stars sparkled over the towers of this city day and night.

And, of course, this city was called Moscow.

Just as the postman was climbing the stairs with a letter, Chuk and Huck had a fight. In short, they just poured out and fought.

I had already forgotten what the fight was about. But I remember that either Chuk stole an empty matchbox from Huck, or, conversely, Huck stole a tin from Chuk from under his wax.

The two brothers had just punched each other with their fists and were about to hit the second one, as the bell rang, and they looked at each other with anxiety. They thought their mother was here! And this mother had a strange character. She wasn't fighting for a fight, she wasn't shouting, she was just taking the fighters to different rooms, and she wouldn't let them play together for an hour or two. And in one hour - teak and so - as much as sixty minutes. And in two hours and more.

That's why both brothers wiped away their tears and rushed to open the door.

But, it turns out, it was not the mother, but the postman who brought the letter.

Then they shouted:

- This is a letter from Daddy! Yes, yes, from Dad! And he will probably come soon.

Here, on their joys, they slept, jumped and threw themselves on the spring sofa. Because even though Moscow is the most wonderful city, but when Dad hasn't been home for a year now, he can become bored in Moscow.

And so they had fun that they did not notice how their mother came in.

She was very surprised to see both her beautiful sons lying on their backs, screaming and pounding their heels on the wall, but so great that the paintings are shaking over the sofa and the spring of the wall clock is buzzing.

But when the mother found out what made her sons so happy, she didn't bust their sons.

She only touched them off the couch.

She threw off her fur coat and grabbed the letter without even shaking off the snowflakes, which now melted and sparkled like sparks over her dark eyebrows.

Everyone knows that letters can be funny or sad, and therefore, while my mother read, Chuk and Huck were closely watching her face.

At first, her mother frowned, and they frowned too. But then she smiled, and they thought the letter was funny.

- My father is not coming," my mother said, postponing the letter. - He still has a lot of work to do, and they won't let him go to Moscow.

The deceived Chuk and Huck looked at each other confusedly. The letter seemed to be the most printed one.

They were pouting at once, crying out and looking angrily at their mother, who was smiling at nothing.

- He won't come," continued the mother, "but he calls us all to his house.

Chuk and Huck jumped off the couch.

- He's an odd man," sighed her mother. - It's good to say it's a visit! It was like taking a tram and going...

- Yes, yes," Chuk picked up quickly, "if he calls, we'll sit down and go.

- You're stupid," said your mother. - A thousand and a thousand kilometres by train. And then in a sled by horses through the taiga. And in the taiga you will come across a wolf or a bear. And what a strange idea! Just think for yourself!

- Gay gay! - Chuk and Gek didn't even think for half a second, and one voice said that they decided to go not only a thousand, but even a hundred thousand kilometers. They are not afraid of anything. They are brave. And it was they who drove a strange dog that jumped into the yard with stones yesterday.

And so they spoke for a long time, waved their hands, dug up, jumped up, and the mother sat silently, listening to them all, listening to them. Finally, she laughed, grabbed both of them in her arms, wrapped them up and dumped them on the couch.
