After 5 days, my birthday. Mom and Nelly and Erica are up to something, I wonder what? I was eager to find out. Ian also prepared something for me, which hurt my curiosity even more. The day before my birthday, my parents went to the city to buy the missing products and something else. Nellie and Erica stayed at my house to finish something, and Ian and I were asked to go out for a walk. And despite the fact that it rained last night, we, of course, went into the forest. We did not go deeper into the forest, so as not to wet our clothes, and went along the path we trod on by us.

“Yen ...” I said when we had already reached 1/3 of the path.

-What?

-Well, do you know how curious I am?

-Sure. - with a mockery he said.

“I can’t even fall asleep if you don’t tell me what you prepared for me for my birthday.”

-Well, we'll see that again.

-What shall we see?

-On how you will sleep today.

-Well, how am I going to sleep?

-Like a baby!

-So, say. I asked Yen in an agonizing voice.

-No. We agreed that you would wait until your birthday.

-Okay, I’ll wait another day.

-That's better. Maybe let's go home, otherwise, you're already frozen?

-But Erica and Nellie were asked to walk not an hour, but a couple of hours.

-But you won’t see anything.

-Like this? - I said in surprise.

-And like this. Ian said and closed my eyes.

-Well, what if I see something?

- I’ll notice it.

-Okay, let's go home. - I agreed.

We turned and walked toward the house. At the exit from the forest, Nellie and Erica met us.

-Why did you come here? - I said when I saw them.

-What happened? - Ian asked a question, not allowing them to answer mine. I wonder what could happen?

“Leela ...” Nelli began, “your parents took the road where the collapse occurred after yesterday's rain.”

-What is the matter with them? - I asked a question. I was at a loss and did not know what to think.

-Their car fell off a cliff and the car with your parents exploded.

-What? It can't be! No! Not right now! I screamed with tearful eyes. I was in complete despair. I suddenly wanted to die too. I thought I shouldn’t live anymore. I needed to be alone. And so I ran into the forest. Ian wanted to run after me, but Erica stopped him. I fled without knowing where. Because of the tears that choked me, I didn’t see anything at all. I ran, stumbled, fell, got up, and again ran without stopping. After some time I fell again, but there was no strength to rise. I crouched into a lump and remained lying on the wet ground, crying. I got wet through and through, and I was terribly cold, but I did not rise. I continued to lie and cry. After some time, I suddenly felt warmer, and I fell asleep, still lying on this wet and cold ground. I woke up not in the forest, but in my room, on my bed. Nearby was Ian. He must have brought me here. It was very light outside. I turned my head and looked at Yen.

-Hello. - with a faint smile and a quiet voice, he said.

-Today is my birthday? - I asked almost indifferently.

- Your birthday was yesterday.

What? I slept for almost two days!

“Ah ...” I wanted to ask about my parents, but Ian, seeing how difficult it is for me to talk about it now, answered my question, without waiting until I finish it.

-Funeral tomorrow. - He said.

I turned away and cried again. I didn’t even notice how Mike entered the room.

-I will bring a sedative. - Mike said in a low voice and went out. After half a minute, Mike was already standing in the room with a tablet and a glass of water in his hands.

-Lila, drink, you need to calm down. - He said.

I got up and drank the pill. I did not have the strength to hold a glass of water, so Ian supported the glass until I washed down the pill.

-You are very weak, you need to eat. - said Mike.

-I do not want. - I said.

-Are you going to go to the funeral?

“Yes ...” I said, and tears began to strangle me again.

-If you don’t sing, you won’t even be able to get out of bed. - continued Mike. - You're gonna eat?

I nodded my head.

-Okay, I'll bring something new. What do you want for yourself?

-No difference. I said, trying not to cry.

-Okay. - Mike said and went out.

-Lila, don’t be so upset. - Ian began to calm me down.

-How can you say that?! These are my parents! - I almost screamed. I had a tantrum.

-Lila, please calm down. Ian said and, stroking my head, laid me back on the bed.

-I'm sorry ...- Whispered.
