Unlimited freedom. Or the Alternative History of Ian and Leela. Part 3.

We went into the building. The bell rang. We went to class. As soon as we got into class, I looked around, and almost all the seats were occupied. Only one thing was free, and that was the place next to Erica. Doesn't she get along with anyone?

-Miss Osborne, you can sit next to Erica. - The teacher said and pointed to Erica.

-Yes, of course. - I said so and went to the desk where Erica was sitting. As soon as I got there, Erica looked at me with some angry look, and I even froze for a fraction of a second. But then I put my bag on the table, pulled everything I needed, and sat down. I tried to sit as far away from Erica as possible. There was some hostility coming from her. After class, I packed my things as fast as I could and left the class. I was finally able to breathe a sigh of peace.

-I hope she didn't bite you. - Ian said sarcastically after I left the class.

-Could I have? - I said sarcastically about the sarcasm.

-Of course, I did. Why do you think no one is sitting with her?

-Did she have a snack on everyone?

-Yes, but not too much, they still survived.

-Mm...yes, they are lucky. - I said sarcastically again and laughed.

I walked a few meters and turned around - Ian wasn't around. Where did he go? Mysticism! But I didn't dwell on it and continued to go on. In the other class, where the next lesson was held, there were more seats available. I sat down at the vacant desk. A few minutes later, Erica walked into the classroom and instead of sitting at the vacant desk, she sat down with me. I was confused. What could have happened during this change? It was weird...

-I'll sit with you? - Erica talked to me when she approached the desk I was sitting at.

-А! I must have taken your place, huh?

-No. I just thought we'd get to know each other better. We wouldn't have to sit in the same class together. - What? Is that what Erica says? In the last class, she even seemed mad at me, but now she says we'll need to get to know each other better! I was wary of that.

-If you want to, you can sit down. - I said. She didn't answer me, just sat down next to me.

-You can call me Ricky, that's what everyone in the family calls me.

-Why are you telling me all this, I thought you didn't like me.

-It was in the morning. And now I want to be friends with you.

-Clearly... I was perplexed.

-I can show you after school. You don't know anything here yet.

-Yes, thank you. - I answered. She was just being nice!...

This lesson was quite different from the previous one. Ricky (that's what I call her now because she let me call her that) spent the rest of the lesson consulting with me, then explaining something to me when I noticed I was misunderstanding something. From this lesson, I only sat with her. And she always helped me in class. And during the breaks, we had various conversations. For some reason, I thought it was pretty good at first, but then it started to look pretty sincere. We became friends with her. She was almost my only friend from class, and almost the only one because my other friend was Nellie, her sister. Soon, Ian, his two sisters, and his brother became, so to speak, inseparable friends. About half a month later, they invited me to their home to meet their parents.

-Nellie, tell me what to wear. - I told Nellie when she called me to tell me Ian would pick me up in her car tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

-You don't have to worry about that. Just wear something pretty, like a cocktail dress.

-Don't bother with anything!

-Okay, I'll come to you in half an hour.

-Oh, come on, don't.

-Otters are not accepted!

-Okay, I'll wait.

-To the meeting. - Nellie told me last and passed out. Exactly half an hour later, she was knocking on my door. Punctuality itself!

-Hello. - I said as soon as I opened the door.

-Hello. Show me where your wardrobe is!

-Let's go to my room.

Nelly followed me.

-Here, all the dresses hang in the closet.

-So..." she said, thinking about it, and began to look through the dresses. - Maybe this? - She said, and she put a dress on me. - No...not your style. Or it's... no, it's not the same color. - She thought through the dresses one by one. - Ah! - She shouted so that I shuddered. - That's it! Try it on! - She told me. I started to change, and she opened a small closet door and pulled out my jewelry box. How does she know the box is there? I wore a dress and she put a heart-shaped necklace around my neck.

-Wonderful! Turn around!

I turned around.

-Everything? How can you do that so easily?

-I'm as good as a girl!

Yeah, yeah, yeah..." I thought.

-Fine. Tomorrow you'll wear all this, and I'll go home.

-What? So fast?

-There's so much more to do...

-What? Why?

-Oh... that's it, I'm gone. - She said and left the room. In half a minute or less, I heard the car leave the house. Then I changed my clothes again, hung up my things in the closet and went to bed. I imagined meeting Ian's, Nellie's, Carl's, and Erica's parents tomorrow.
