0 to 4, or How a healthy child develops
Development as a mechanism
Normal, full-fledged, from the point of view of doctors, the child should not only put on weight in time, grow up, but also show their emotions and perform certain movements. If all these functions appear on time, it means that the baby's brain and its motor system develop correctly. Therefore, having found out development of motor skills (motor functions) and mentality not corresponding to age, it is necessary to find out whether this delay of development depends on a congenital defect of the central nervous system or it is caused by the fact that parents do not deal with the baby much.
The fact is that the child's nervous system, as well as the immune system, develops as it grows, so how intellectually developed your baby will be, largely depends on the conditions in which it is located. For example, even before the birth of the child needs to communicate, and with the birth of the child it becomes simply necessary. That's why children who for some reason could not be near their parents, for physical and intellectual parameters are inferior to the kids growing up in families, where they are provided with not only good care (feeding, bathing, etc.), but also full communication as with equal members of the family.
The intellectual development of the child, especially the very young one, depends on the mode of upbringing and care created by parents. For example, children who are constantly wrapped in blankets (with legs and hands), it is too late to crawl and take objects with their hands. There is another extreme: it seems right to parents to rush the development of the baby. Of course, by training the child can be accustomed, for example, to sit or stand earlier. However, these early successes are not only not useful to him, but even harmful. In order for the baby to grow up to be a harmonious person, you just need to follow certain rules of education, diet and sleep. Provide him with toys, talk to him all the time, make sure that he gets the skills necessary for his age in time, and in case of lagging behind, immediately consult a doctor.
Understanding how your baby develops can be helped by our scheme. When studying it, do not forget that every child grows not so much on the "book", but on their own "schedule", and it is normal.
He was born!
The newborn is physically helpless, his movements are uncertain. By the time he is born, he has a food reflex, which is manifested in the fact that the child is looking for his mother's breasts and sucks her. Defensive (protective) and indicative reflexes are clearly visible. Protective reflex is manifested by blinking eyes, orientation - the movement of the eyes to the source of light. However, the baby is not yet able to keep track of objects with eyes. If you touch the inside of the palms of the newborn with your finger, he will grab at him. At this age, the baby, grabbing the thumbs of his or her father's or mother's hands, is well held in a hanging position. He sleeps in the frog position: lying on his back, with arms bent in his elbows and raised up, and with legs bent in his knee joints and moved apart.
What should worry parents? The baby does not suck, does not react to light, sleeps with arms and legs stretched out along the body.
1 month At this age, the baby notices bright objects. He flinches or flashes if he hears a sharp sound and tries to listen to what is going on around him. The first uncertain sounds appear - humming, the first smile. For a few seconds, mostly lying on the stomach, the baby can hold his head in an upright position. He stretches out, tries to push his legs and crawl. If you support him under the arms, he will be able to rest his legs on the support (for example, the floor). From the moment of birth up to 2 months the baby sleeps about 20 hours a day.
What should worry parents? The baby does not react to sudden sounds, sleeps little (awake between two or three meals) or vice versa (when you have to wake him up to feed), eats poorly (does not eat the proper amount of food).
2 months The baby keeps an eye on moving objects, turns his head to the side of the human voice, stops sucking if you show him a bright object. Lying on his stomach, he lifts his head and raises his chest, holding his head for 1-1.5 minutes. If you support him under the arms, he can stand, though, while bending his legs. The ability to hold in a hanging position and the desire to crawl disappear. He smiles in response to a smile and buzzes more clearly. The child tries to hold objects with the whole hand, and his movements are not as chaotic and uncertain as before.
What should worry parents? The child does not show emotions, is indifferent to the environment, does not react to the smile of loved ones, does not hold objects by hand and does not eat the amount of food.
3 months Being in an upright position, the baby can focus his eyes and watch the subject" 5-6 minutes. Now he clearly understands the direction of the sound and turns his head to the direction from which he distributes it. The child is no longer looking.
