At present, the assessment of sensory integration relies solely on the sensory integration scale, plus the subjective influence of parents when filling out the form, and the reference to the evaluation results are very limited. However, it relies on standardized scales for evaluation. It has not been evaluated by professional functional therapists, resulting in a large number of children without targeted intervention. I have compiled and evaluated the five aspects of sensory adjustment, posture movement, bilateral integration and body sensation for reference by parents, teachers and sensory instructors!
Feeling poor adjustment
1. Gravity insecurity
- The normal response to changes in body posture
+ Excessive fear of actual danger
2. Aversion to action
- no disgusting reaction
+ Feeling uncomfortable with movement (nausea, vomiting, dizziness, dizziness)
3. Tactile defense
- can endure different tactile stimuli
+ Overreaction or aversion to tactile stimuli
4. Escape feeling experience
- Seeking new and challenging experiences
+ Escape unfamiliar activities or feeling stimuli
5. Overreaction to taste
- no disgusting reaction
+ Over-reactive or aversive reaction
6. Overreact to sound
- no disgusting reaction
+ Overreaction to the sound or aversive reaction
7. Distraction
- No particular tendency to pay attention to irrelevant stimuli
+ Pay attention to irrelevant stimuli; hard to focus on work
8. Activity
- Display the appropriate amount of activity and spoken activity for the situation
+ Extra high activity or difficulty moving from dynamic activity to static activity
Poor posture
1. Prone and straight
- Straighten your body against gravity to maintain 20~30 seconds
+ It is difficult to straighten the body against gravity
2. The proximity of the proximal end in a squat posture
- Stabilize the shoulders, back, elbows when carrying weight
+ vertebral lordosis, elbows overstretched or stuck or shoulders floating
3. Straighten muscle tension
- no low tension
+ When standing, the lordosis and knees are overstretched, and the muscles are soft to the touch.
4. Balance
- The upper limbs are posture-adjusted and maintain the head or upper torso upright
+ Can't maintain the head or upper torso upright or the upper limb can't make posture adjustment to maintain balance
5. Bend your head under your back
- Bend the head when the back is bent and the head does not fall back
+ When the back is bent, the head falls back (the chin is lifted)
6. Posture adjustment
- appropriate posture adjustment to maintain limb movement
+ exaggerated, clumsy, inappropriate or reduced posture adjustment
Two sides integration and ordering issues
1. Habitual hand confusion
- Continue to work with the same hand
+ Sometimes use the right hand, sometimes use the left and right to do the same job
2. Cross the centerline
- Spontaneously cross the body midline
+ Avoid crossing the midline
3. Left-right chaos
- correctly distinguish the right and left or know but not correctly named
+ left and right chaos
4. Predictive action sequence and two-sided action skills
A. Pick up a bouncing ball
- pick up the bouncing ball when changing the power or direction
+ It is difficult to pick up the bouncing ball when changing the power or direction
B. Jumping in a continuous circle
- Jumping continuously on both feet without stopping
+ can't jump at the same time with both feet, segment jump
C. Run and jump
- Run in a smooth, alternating way
+ can't run and jump; break it down step by step
D. Opening and closing
- Open and close your arms and feet at the same time and smoothly and continuously jump
+ Move your arms or feet in segments when jumping or it is difficult to complete continuous jumps
E. Same side jump
- When performing continuous jumps, swing the arms and feet on the same side forward and backward
+Cannot move the same side of the arm and foot at the same time, segmented jump, can not jump continuously
F. Alternate step jump
- While performing a continuous jump, swing the opposite arm and foot forward and backward simultaneously
+ Cannot move the opposite arm and foot at the same time, segmented jump, can't jump continuously
G. Skip a moving object
- Plan and execute an action to skip moving objects without hitting objects
+ When you try to skip a moving object, it will be hit by the object
Physical sensation
1. Sit back
- Can be easily made and keep the body in a full bend for about 20-30 seconds
+ can't make or maintain posture
2. Order finger touch
- You can use your thumb to face the other fingers in a smooth order on both sides
+ You cannot touch other fingers with your thumb in a smooth order, you need visual monitoring
3. In-hand operation skills
- Operate objects in the hand
+ You must use two hands or place an object on the table to manipulate the object
4. Fast alternating action
- Make pronation or supination in the order of consecutive two sides together
+ decomposition action, bilateral coordination difference
5. Finger to nose
- alternately and correctly touch the nose with your finger
+ Touch nose accuracy is reduced; excessive or exceeded
