Second-hand markets can sell endless categories of items: from clothes for the whole family, furniture and furnishings and everything you need for everyday life, books, comics, music and much more is there to wait for you.
But why, you might wonder, is it better to buy used instead of new ones?

There's nothing to do, sooner or later we all do the math in our pockets and it's always nice to save two coins. But here the second-hand shops come to our aid: any kind of item we want to buy we can find it discounted from 50% up on the original price. Who said that ecology is not accessible to everyone?
...but the environment as well!
In the production chain of each object are consumed many resources such as raw materials, water, and energy, not to mention the hidden waste that every company inevitably produces. At best, renewable energy and recycled materials have been used to make our objects, but if there is a way to avoid waste altogether, it is just not to buy "new"!
The economy becomes circular
Many durable objects (i.e. not disposable, packaging) are not recyclable so if we adopt a used object we save it from landfill or thermo-valorizer. By extending its life we give more value to the resources we talked about in the previous chapter and we delay the moment when we will have to use other resources to destroy it.
Children go back to being children
Let's do an experiment, look around our house and take in hand the first thing that happens to us... where does it come from? In 99% it will be written made in China or some other developing country. Unfortunately, we can't know for sure by whom and in what conditions it was produced... why risk it? When we buy second-hand products, we don't finance that kind of production!
Money in the wrong hands
But where does the money we spend really go? Buying in the "new" the highest percentage too often does not go to those who really produce our object and not even spend for the quality of the same. Our money almost always ends up in the pocket of those who have no problem exploiting the environment and people.
Our purchase is a vote
Unlike big brands and multinationals, second-hand shops are often small shops or periodical markets. One of our purchases can really make a difference to them! The power we have as consumers is greater than we imagine, one action at a time we can change the world.

How many times has it happened to us that after a few months our purchase has broken, creased, discolored? Fortunately for us, in flea markets it is much easier to find quality things than in other places: we can consider a seal of quality the fact that after years of use what we are about to buy is still in excellent condition! Moreover, it is not uncommon to find "Made in Italy" and old-fashioned items made to last, far from the concept of programmed obsolescence.
Vintage and collecting
For all vintage lovers and collectors, there is no place more sacred than a flea market. The uniqueness of these products is precisely the fact that they are linked to the past and remind us of fashions from other times.
Love that is handed down
All we can find in a second-hand shop are "pre-loved" items, their previous owner made a beautiful gesture when he decided to give new value to his things and donated them or sold them at a market. It's us, however, who adopt them to fulfill that desire and set in motion the cycle of circular economy!
