Chapter three.

The alarm clock went off at exactly 8:00 in the morning. The irritating chime cut the ear so hard that Alice's reflex turned off the hellish machine from the first seconds. As soon as it was done, the girl was stuck to the closet, wiping her sleepy, yet awake eyes with her hands.

This time the school uniform was lying on its shelf. Alice dressed slowly, took her briefcase and went to the kitchen just as slowly as she was going to the place where she kept her clothes.

- Again the porridge,- she yawned, holding out the heroine. - Nothing more edible?

- Stop being so capricious,- Mom hit the table with her hand, which made Alice shudder. - The porridge is very useful, it gives strength and energy!

- But we don't know what it's made of,- Alice said. - Maybe it says on the package what some juice is made of, not porridge! Everywhere there are only deceivers who can put some harmful mixture in the package instead of porridge! And then we eat it for breakfast! So it's not far from the hospital!

- Is the juice made of oatmeal? - Katya was surprised that she had just finished killing her breakfast.

Alice did not know what to say. She wasted all her anger, and so there was nothing else to do but eat this unhappy oatmeal. As always, it tasted nasty, but you have to suffer, there's nothing else.

Finally came the happy moment when the oatmeal was completely enslaved by Alice, which means that this breakfast was also over! The girl came up to the fridge and took out the smoked trout.

- Can I cut the piece off and take it with me? - She asked.

Mom was so into washing dishes that she didn't care. She mumbled something under her nose, but Alice heard the word "yes".

The girl happily cut off a piece of redfish and rushed outside in a flash.

- And why do you need trout? - Mom suddenly asked, but Alice had already run away.

- Maybe she feeds her classmates, who are also given porridge for breakfast, but they refuse it? - Katya, who hasn't gone to school yet, assumed.

Today it was not as sunny and warm as yesterday. The sun disappeared somewhere behind the gray clouds, and so the yard somehow darkened.

Right at the door was a beige cat with emerald eyes, hoping to see the two-legged one. His ears rose in a moment as a junkie, and a joyful meowing was heard.

- I brought you something! - Alice smiled, putting smoked trout next to her favorite.

This time, the cat rushed at her without hesitation, enjoying a nice meal. In just a couple of seconds, there was nothing left of the fish.

- You should have cut off a bigger piece,- Alice sighed. - It's okay, I'll get you a refill after school.

The girl ran to school. It was already fifteen minutes on the clock, and she just left the house! I didn't have time to be late for school yet. The traffic light immediately switched to green in front of the carriageway, as if the heroine wasn't late for school.

The school was across the street from Alice's house. She was new and finished it when Alice entered first grade. It covered a large area with a playground, athletic field, and a treadmill, where children used to run in gymnastics when it was warm. The school itself represented a four-story building painted in pink. On the ground floor, various plants surrounding the spiral staircase to other floors were immediately visible. On the walls, there were beautiful paintings painted by talented students. But the other floors were not so remarkable. Basically only offices, classrooms, toilets for girls and boys. And only the fourth floor was occupied by a library with a convex glass roof. Here's a glance when it's dark outside, right from the library to watch the stars!

Alice opened the gate when she walked into the school grounds. Parents took their children to the school, someone came by scooter, bicycle or skateboard... In general, everything is as usual. Another tedious weekday.

Suddenly, Alice felt like someone was rubbing their feet. She looked down and there was that very cat.

- Animals can't come here! - A girl sat down on her squat, stroking the cat in the neck. - It's very nice of you to follow me, but you understand that I don't have any more food!

A skinny lump of wool looked at the bipedal eyes with pitiful eyes. Alice thought for a couple of seconds, and then she said something:

- Then sit here so that no one would notice you! You understand that you may be hit by a car when you cross the road, and I won't have time to take you to the yard.

Alice ran to school but turned around in front of the door to see the wretched creature again.

"I'm already starting to talk to cats, it's not normal! - A girl scolded herself in her thoughts. It's pretty stupid to talk to animals that don't understand human language! Maybe we talk to them just because of loneliness or boredom?

Alice flew into the locker room, throwing her light jacket on the hanger. The call was only five minutes away!
