Bots will save news feeds on social networks and information portals with comments that are generated by artificial intelligence. This is the conclusion the researchers came to last week. According to experts, DeepCom algorithm uses the same news sites to speed up the launch of new comment sections. However, in practice it looks like another attempt to fill the Internet with meaningless spam.
Engineers at Microsoft and Beihang University in China have created two versions of DeepCom for English and Chinese sites. For the Chinese version, the algorithm was provided with headlines, news and examples of comments from Tencent News. The English version received the same from a set of these Yahoo News articles, which were also more annotated to help the algorithm.
Compared to other comment generation algorithms that focus only on keywords or the headline of a news article, DeepCom's results look much more realistic.
