Progress does not stand still, and technologies are constantly being improved or replaced by new, more advanced developments. Innovation is evolving rapidly: until recently, we were only able to make landline calls, and today we can't imagine our lives without smartphones and other mobile devices that keep us connected. New inventions are constantly emerging that improve our lives and displace existing devices. And today we can already assume what modern technologies will soon become history.
1. PIN codes and passwords
With the development of hacking, passwords and PIN codes no longer provide reliable data protection. They will be replaced by biometric systems based on fingerprints, retinal scans or facial recognition.
2. Rearview mirrors in cars
Modern electronic systems are penetrating deeper and deeper into human life, bringing the level of comfort to a previously unattainable height. Thus, in the near future cars will lose their rear-view mirrors. They will be replaced by a viewing system that displays a picture of what is happening outside. This solution will also improve the aerodynamics of the car, which will help to reduce fuel consumption and, most importantly, increase safety, because unlike mirrors, cameras do not have blind spots.
In the U.S., a law was passed in 2014, according to which all cars manufactured for the U.S. market must be equipped with rear-view cameras. This provision came into force in May 2018.
3. Remote control
The remote control is a common thing and is also habitually lost. But in the near future, we will forget all these searches and will calmly manage any appliances voice, just saying the right commands.
4. Chemotherapy
Unfortunately, the level of modern medicine does not allow curing oncological diseases yet, and any person will be shocked to hear the diagnosis - cancer. Treatment is so hard and exhausting that sometimes patients refuse chemotherapy and cannot endure suffering. But there is hope that in the near future we can expect new, more gentle and more effective methods of cancer treatment. Medical companies are working on developments in the field of immune and gene therapy. According to open source information, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are investing huge sums in the development of these technologies.
5. Needle syringes
Injections with a needle and syringe are a little painful and unpleasant. But perhaps soon this method will become an anachronistic. MIT BioInstrumentation Lab has developed a device that injects a drug without a needle. It throws out a jet of liquid at an ultra-high speed, almost equal to the speed of sound, so that the liquid penetrates the skin through a tiny hole no bigger than a mosquito trunk.
6. Prosthetics
The prosthetics itself will not disappear in the foreseeable future, but will reach a completely different level. Today, prostheses play a more aesthetic role because of their limited functionality. But in the near future the loss of a limb will not mean a limitation of possibilities. Already now, prostheses are being developed as devices that provide additional functions that will be unique to each individual. For example, the accidentally injured British prosthesis of James Young is stylized as a bionic arm. It is equipped with a clock, a USB port to charge mobile devices, laser illumination and a landing pad for the drone. Singer Victoria Modesta has made the prosthesis part of her stage image. She has more than 10 prostheses with an exclusive design. The French tattoo artist Jc Sheitan Tenet, who has lost his hand, continues to work with a tattoo-machine prosthesis.
