The truth is that movement is life, movement is emotion: in fact the etymology of the word emotion is to be traced back to the Latin emovère (ex=off + movere=move) literally bring out, move; therefore emotion is nothing but an agitation, a shaking, a vibration of the soul.

So when the experiences and emotions do not find a good channel of expression, our emotional backpack is filled with stones, pebbles, waste, various material that sometimes we carry it loaded to the extreme of our forces, while other times it can happen to empty it impulsively, so suddenly. But how can we effectively free it? The possibility of acting on the body is a privileged channel to make the individual aware of some experiences and emotions that hardly verbal level could find a channel of expression ... where the word is not effective the body is effective!

The body is the seat of contact between us and ourselves and the world; today it is no longer possible to deny body-mind integration, especially for the well-being and health of people. In fact, body psychotherapy is based on the consideration that the whole person cannot be artificially separated into its parts.

The expression "Body-centered therapies" indicates various therapies (Bioenergetics, the Rolfing method, the Feldenkrais method, the G. Alexander technique, postural integration, the Reichian method, etc.) all conducted through various exercises applied to the body, seen as a meeting place between mind, emotions and spirituality as a means of transformation and growth. The goal is to access body memory to heal present and past events, the body is seen as a storehouse of experiences. The body-centered approaches have common characteristics: they observe the body to understand the character, the use of physical interventions and the mind-body fracture as a central aspect (Piroli, Montanari, Iannazzo 2010).

The basic concept is that of vital energy that is identified by various authors with various synonyms, disease is seen as a message that our body transmits to us, without a firm rootedness in the body the ego does not have a sense of reality; the ego is first of all a bodily ego.

Working with the body is a way to keep young and unload weights, many ancient populations such as Chinese, Mongolians, Japanese used since ancient times disciplines on the body to achieve physical and psychological well-being as Yoga or martial arts, even the Greeks professed "Mens sana in corpore sano".

To get to us, it is clear that reading body language opens up new horizons of understanding, awareness and well-being. Therefore, since every emotion moulds the body and can remain blocked, it is self-evident that the most effective therapy is connected to the energetic unblocking: to make the flow freely and increase the level triggers an inexorable process of restoration.

What to do? Meditation, Yoga, Bioenergetic Therapy are among the possible ways of well-being and self-awareness. The Bioenergetics exercises aim to free the body from the armor by promoting abreaction (emotional discharge) held by the muscles. Grounding is the main exercise of bioenergetics, which is about to take root, it helps people to release tension in the abdomen, games, pelvis and it is possible that vibrations appear throughout the body.

In Bioenergetics as in many other psycho-corporeal disciplines, there are many exercises: from the use of the voice, to the breath, to the work on the eyes, on the pelvis, on the various body levels; the fundamental thing is the sense that is given and the well-being that is obtained from these exercises.
