Barbel definitely offers an alternative to the usual Trout Fishing. This fish, in fact, is found in abundance and in large sizes in the Sarca River, near Lake Garda, near the power plant. Here the water has long and deep plains, with a strong presence of algae: the ideal environment for the common barbel.
The barbel can always be threatened with the shearing bait, with lines equipped with float, or with fixed rods or from bolognese type launch, or even with the technique thoroughly.
Deep-sea fishing
The nylon used for bottom fishing is 0.25. A sliding lead of 15 or 20 grams and a rubber tube of 2 centimeters should be inserted into it. At the other end, there is a swivel to which is tied a terminal of the 0.18, 30-40 centimeters long, which carries the hook and bait. Alternatively, you can use a mother line of 0.25 and a lead bar of 25-30 grams, according to the strength of the current. The terminal of the 020 is 50 centimeters long, and carries two nylon armrests of the 0.18 spaced by half a meter, 7 centimeters long, armed with hooks of the 10. The terminal ends with a 9 hook. The barrel is the typical throwing Rod. The terminal of this frame can also be made of nylon of 0.20, 80 cm long, with in half a flag armrest of 35 cm armed with a hook of 8 or 10 and ending with an olive lead. We use an earthworm as bait.
Another interesting frame is the camolera, A Line Terminal One and a half meters long formed by three pieces of nylon wire of 0.22 (usually six are used, but in Sarca it is not allowed to fish with more than three hooks). The pieces are joined together with sliding knots and connected to the Mother line. The nylon is 0.25, with a swivel that ends with another carabiner swivel to which is hooked a ballerina weighing proportionate to the strength of the current.
Along this terminal, hang, inserted between the sliding nodes, the pieces that make it up, spaced 20 centimeters from each other: the three nylon armrests of 0.22 five centimeters long, each armed with a classic artificial camola of various colors, such as yellow, green and red loaded.
The fishing operation consists of three operations:
Throw the fishing line far upstream.
Let it sink
Leave the wire with the reel, making sure that the fishing line is always in tension.
The stronger the current and lower towards the water the tip of the barrel must be held. This is because the camolas need to run as close as possible to the bottom.
When the camolera has been dragged to the point where we are, we repeat the launch to the Valley and the recovery begins. The bite is signaled by some shaking of the line that is transmitted to the barrel.
The most used baits are:
- The verdines: you can find the summer under the stones. They must be used on hooks of 12-15.
- The pedestals and pedestals: they are also located under the stones, but in current. Hooks of 10-14 must be used.
- The gatossa: it is located under the dead leaves that rot near the shore. Hooks of 10-14 must be used.
- Mud earthworm: they are found in the mud on the banks of rivers or streams. Hooks of 8-12 must be used.
Fishing with floating slide
The float must be tapered and very sensitive, and must carry a non-heavy lead. The leads will be grouped in 30-50 centimeters of the fishing line terminal, so that only one-spaced from the others by 30 centimeters-borders the bottom.
The main line is 0.16-0.18 nylon. The terminal, two meters long (but the length varies depending on the depth), is 0.14.Hooks range from 10 to 15, forged, bronzed or crooked. As for baits, the same can be used as for deep-sea fishing, that is:
