part 1.

Evil remains evil.

Sometime later, the museum still got rid of the ominous exhibit, selling it to a private collection. The buyer immediately began a series of misfortunes. Finally, he took away the mummy in the attic.

This house was once visited by the famous theosophy and occultist Elena Blavatsky. As soon as she entered, she immediately clogged herself in a severe seizure. When she woke up, she went all over the house in search of an unusually strong source of evil and finally reached the attic, where she found the sarcophagus. The master asked her:

- Can you cast out this evil spirit?

- Evil spirits are not cast out," Blavatsky replied. - Evil remains evil forever. There is nothing you can do about it. I beg you to get rid of it as soon as possible!

But following this advice was not so easy. The glory of the ominous artifact has spread throughout the civilized world, and no one wanted to get involved with it.

However, in the end, such a brave man was found. It was Lord Centerville, an English aristocrat, a passionate collector. He was a very superstitious man and knew that the sarcophagus has a formidable curse on it, which will strike everyone who dares to break the peace of the princess. But the temptation to possess a legendary artifact was stronger than fear. The Lord hoped that if he did not open the sarcophagus, the curse would not catch him.

Three sea catastrophes.

And indeed, for a while, Centerville owned his treasure without incident. And then he decided to present the sarcophagus at an exhibition in New York. He booked himself a cabin on the world's best liner of the time, and the sarcophagus was given a place in the cargo bay. Everything would be fine, but this ship was called the Titanic. As you know, on the night of April 15, 1912, it sank, collided with an iceberg (according to the official version), and took the lives of more than a thousand and a half people. And what about the mummy? It is quite possible that it did not sink. Some witnesses saw Lord Centerville take her into the lifeboat despite the protests of other passengers. Others claim to have noticed this sarcophagus floating on the surface of the ocean, including the Titanic luggage.

However, in 1914, Princess Amen-Ra reappeared to the world. The new owner of the sarcophagus was a rich Canadian from Montreal. Soon he was disappointed in his dangerous acquisition and decided to send the mummy back to England on a ship called the Queen of Ireland. Shortly after leaving the port, however, the ship collided with a Norwegian ship. As a result, 1029 people died. The Canadian himself survived. But after that, he had a vision that the spirit of the princess would not rest until the coffin returned to its rightful place in Luxor. Therefore, in order to rid the world of the curse that took so many lives, the Canadian decided to return the mummy to Egypt. The ship, onboard which he boarded with his dangerous cargo, left New York on May 1, 1915. And six days later he was attacked by a German submarine. The torpedo she launched sent the steamer to the bottom, killing 1200 people. The Canadian, on the other hand, was alive again, but suffered from mental illness for the rest of his life, unable to survive the fact that so many people died through his fault.

Despite all the efforts of doctors and scientists, to find out from the owner, what happened to the mummy, failed. Most likely, the sarcophagus remained in the hold of a sunken steamer and now rests on the seabed somewhere near the Irish coast. And God forbid if some treasure hunter someday lifts it to the surface.

The curse of Princess Amen-Ra remains in force until she returns to Luxor.
