Basic instinct

No matter how spinning, soap is the most popular skin cleanser. Cosmetic brands tried their best to put us on shower gels and creams, until experts opened their eyes, explaining that only the notorious bar can deeply cleanse the skin of dirt, sweat, and toxins. But soap should not be abused? When the pH of the skin is too high, the body resists and produces excess sebum to restore its natural value. The alkaline base in this case only exacerbates the situation, provoking the violation of the lipid barrier. This, in turn, leads to unpleasant consequences such as dryness, eczema, dermatitis, and acne. How can we find the golden mean? Dermatologists advise paying more attention to the choice of soap. It must contain a large number of caring oils: for example, coconut and olive oils deeply moisturize the skin, and extract from the grape seed due to the high content of linoleic acid relieves inflammation. Parabens, SLS and phthalates should be avoided - these components break down the protective barrier, provoking peeling and allergic reactions.

Cloud in the palm of your hand

For those looking for special tenderness, mousses and shower foams were invented. Their consistency is associated with airy desserts from childhood and does not inspire much hope. And for nothing! In the production of mousses special, gentle surfactants are used. They do not destroy the hydrolipidic mantle of the skin but only wash away dirt. Therefore, after the use of such products, the skin remains moisturized without a sense of tightness. The air texture is created by the use of homogenizers - installations that make the composition homogeneous. The mousse is pressurized in the bottle to enhance the effect and produce an even softer and thicker foam. Simply press the dispenser, and you get a ready-made, well-whipped foam. Manufacturers can add a variety of emollients and moisturizers to the mousse. These are oils, plant extracts and even natural preservatives (e.g. sorbic acid). Foams with extracts of silk, vanilla, fruit, and berries are very popular now. Mousses are suitable for different types of skin and can solve different problems. Recently, the most popular products are vitamins and nutrients and lighter, moisturizing variants - with glycerin (in small concentrations), aloe and panthenol.

Again, micelles

The success of micellar water also affects bodybuilders. So-called micellar shower gels are characterized by a more gentle formula that provides ultra-soft yet effective cleansing. As a rule, their composition eliminates any kind of sulfates - for them the work is done by micelles, which capture the dirt and wash off the skin without friction. The main feature of micellar shower gels is that their pH corresponds to the value of water (6.6-7.0), which means that it is as close as possible to the hydrogen index of human skin. Therefore, as you have already understood, dryness and any discomfort during their use are excluded.

Divided into two

We are used to seeing two-phase formulas in the demake-up rank, but now they are actively used for moisturizing the skin. These products contain water and oil phases. The first component is at the bottom and the second component is at the top, as the density of the oil is lower than the density of water. Very often the water phase is painted, but in fact, it is not necessary: this method only allows the buyer to better navigate and quickly find the product on the shelves of stores. The biphasic formula helps to combine two immiscible components in one product without changing its properties and without using emulsifiers. Accordingly, we get the best from both the oil base and the water base. An analogy can be drawn with the protective hydrolipidic film on the skin surface, which also consists of fat and water. If the composition of this protective layer is balanced, our skin looks and feels great. Two-phase moisturizers usually use lighter and more quickly absorbed oils (e.g. macadamia, jojoba and citrus oils). These components are rich in amino and fatty acids, as well as vitamins A and E, which delay the appearance of age-related changes in the skin, preventing the loss of elasticity. As for the water phase, there are thousands of possible combinations of different plant ingredients. Aloe, chamomile, chamomile, cornflower, green tea, grapefruit, lemon and marigold extracts are now very popular. They also help to maintain water and fat balance and have anti-inflammatory effects, that is, they can soften and relieve skin irritation.
